Anaheim Gazette 3 THURSDAY MORNING, FEB. 5, 1953 ANAHEIM, CALIFORNIA Broadway P-TA Honors Past Presidents on Founder's Day The Broadway school P-TA met Tuesday at 3 p.m. in observance of Founder's Day. Mary Grace Spielman, president, presided at the business meeting and Mrs. Robert Moor lead the devotional. Flag salute was lead by two charming little girls, Brenda Morgan and Linda Brown. Mrs. Darwin Stockwell, secretary, read the minutes of the last regular and board meetings. A nominating committee was selected with Harold Frazen to serve as chairman and Mrs. Ivan Story and Mrs. Sam Morgan as committeemen. Mrs. D. R. Filadelphia, program chairman, introduced six past presidents who are annually honored on Founder's Day, they were the Mmes. Frank Doretta, E. E. Blankmeyer, Guy Holman, Arthur Showalter, Robert Moor and Mary Grace Spillman. Mrs. Filadelphia introduced the Rev. Bob Kevorikian who sang three numbers, one of which was "Deep River" which he dedicated to the past presidents. Mrs. John Henry presented doll favors to the honorees and guests. Miss E. Kate Rae spoke on the past history of the P-TA gave a resume of the schools before their segregation of high school, elementary, junior high and etc. Miss Rae poured at the tea table which was lovely with a lace table cloth, crystal candelabra and flowers, centered with a beautiful cake which had been presented by Mrs. Stockwell. The cake was outstanding in that it was made in the form of an open book with gold-edged leaves. Bolney Elliott, principal of the Broadway school was a special guest.
