Anaheim Junior Ebell Club's Annual "Men's Night" Features Buffet Supper and Program
Members of the Anaheim Junior Ebell club with their husbands and escorts met in the clubhouse Tuesday evening for the annual "Men's Night" supper and entertainment.
The club rooms were beautifully decorated with peach blossoms and asparagus fern and lighted white tapers was lovely, and the supper tables were equally as charming with arrangements of asparagus fern and camellias of various colors. The stage in the auditorium was centered with a large heart-shaped wreath of fern and camellias which accented the valentine motif.
Club president Mrs. McFarland Toll extended a welcome and introduced her husband, McFarland Toll, Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Whiteman, Mrs. Whiteman is Junior Advisor, and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Thompson, Mrs. Thompson is president of the Senior Ebell club.
Mrs. Jack Sulter, program chairman introduced the "Sharp Shooter," a barber shop quartet, who delighted their listeners with a program of songs from long, long ago. The quartet consists of Bud Roberts, tenor; Jud Slonaker,
Steichen, and Mmes. Gordon Salness, Robert Begole, Robert Carlson, D. G. Caruthers, Duke Clark, Gerard Callens, Leonard Boujas, A. B. Lansdown, William Pearson, Henry Plou, J. E. Fisher, James Morris, Keith Murdoch, Gene Newton, Thomas Sowder, J. D. Wallace, and Mrs. Frank Gulen.
Mrs. Tolf reminded members of the spring benefit which is to be held Saturday, Feb. 28, and that reservations may be made by calling Mrs. Kenneth Banks, 5049. She also announced that 1953 dues now due.
Opal Walter Makes Official VFW Visit to Indio
Nine members of the Anaheim VFW auxiliary motored to Indio last week to attend a second VFW district meeting at which Opal Walter, department president, made her official visit.

They sang "The Way You Roll Those Eyes," "I Want a Girl Just Like the Girl that Married Dear Old Dad," "When You Were Sweet Sixteen," "Sweet Adeline," "Ain't She Sweet," "Wait for the Sunshine Velle," and "Coney Island Baby" was the encore.
Elizabeth Talbot Martin gave several catirical impressions and impersonations of such well known figures as Judy Holiday, Grata Garbo and Eleanor Roosevelt. Miss Martin's accompanist William Teaford played two piano numbers: "An American in Paris" and "Blue Tango."

Brian Gray Fetee On Birthday with Cowboy Party
In a wild afternoon Master Brown Gray, son of the Britt H. Gray 705 S. Pine, and 15 small cowgirls celebrated his birthday.
Since no bucking broncos were available other than the one day orating the birthday cake, he entered the picture pulling a cart. They were shetland ponies which was all the more in keeping with the size of the riders, wathoroughly enjoyed the thrill ride to La Palma park.
Decorations and favors all came out the cowboy and Indian theme with the bronce on the cage and cowboy napkins.
Mrs. Gray served cake, cream and hot chocolate to Bratt Hall, Diana and Bobby Carls Gayle and Donna Dempster, Dkie and Bobby Peterson, Stephanie Berncker, Dennis Carpenter, Ted and Judy Dowhis, Sherrill A Willleford, Janetta Williams Margannia and Marilyn Sue Henson.

Homemakers Class Marks Thirty Active Years
As the First Baptist church celebrate 60 years in Fullerton, the Homemakers class of the church celebrates 30 years of activity. Tuesday evening the class met at the home of Mrs. Harold Welton, 809 North Nicolas. Eleven of the others joined soon afterward.
Anaheim A. B. Paul Meet to Hear Committees*
The A. B. Paul WRC met for the regular business session with President Mary Fordyce presiding, and only one officer absent. Twenty eight members present in addition to one visitor, Mary Fordyce.
Homemakers Class Marks Thirty Active Years
As the First Baptist church celebrate 60 years in Fullerton, the Homemakers class of the church celebrates 30 years of activity. Tuesday evening the class met at the home of Mrs. Harold Welton, 809 North Nicolas. Eleven of the others joined soon afterward.
A brief business session was presided over by Mrs. Lloyd Pendleton of Placentia, Mrs. Harold McCabe gave devotions consistent to the theme of the anniversary. Following devotions many delightful reminiscences were brought before the group.
Colored slides of eastern United States and Canada were shown by Edna Welton who visited the area for nine months of 1952. Williamsburg Va., as well as many other historic sites were shown. Some of the most delightful scenes were the contrasts provided by spring flowers and fall foliage.
Refreshments were served by Mrs. Harold McCabe, Luila Thomas and Myrtle Gravett.
Lutheran Women Hold First Meet
Women of the church of Lutheran held their first meeting since the inauguration of the two-meeting system, this week. To accommodate the many schedules, both afternoon and evening meetings are to be held on the same day. Good attendance at the first meeting indicated the success of the system.
Mrs. Louis Reinhart, president, introduced the officers who are Mrs. H. G. Henderson, vice president and Mrs. William Steadman, secretary. She gave each committee chairman an opportunity to explain her duties and work; Literature, Mary Cooper; hospital, Mrs. Perry Anderson; New Guinea, Mrs. Alvin Nelson; thank offering, Mrs. Morris Hovey; India lace, Mrs. Arthur Rock, and special needs, Mrs. Richard Olson.
Pastor of the church, Herman Mees Meyer, spoke to the group on personal evangelism. In urging each woman to invite new members to church, he emphasized the thrill of seeing new attendants in church and knowing personal responsibility could be accepted.

Stanton Sunshine And Shower Club Dinner Given
Mimes. Conna E. Pollack and William C. Birmley were hostesses at the monthly luncheon.

The A. B. Paul WRC met for the regular business session with President Mary Fordyce presiding, and only one officer absent.
Twenty eight members present in addition to one visitor, Mary Fordyce's sister-in-law, Agnes Hoepner from Randalia, Ia. Mrs. Hoepner is a member of the WRC in Randalia.
Reports of the relief committee revealed $43 in cash received, $4.25 for the March of Dimes, one lap robe, $30.50 for child relief, three floral sprays, two large bouquets, 21 calls on the sick and 190 cards sent.
A letter was read from Ruth Johnson, department president, in which she encouraged the local corps for its efforts in behalf of two new projects.
Etta Countess presented Leona Hull, 1952 president, with her recognition pin, and Alice Robert announced that the A. B. Paul Social club will meet at the home of Mary Fordyce, 725 N. Clementine st., on Tuesday, Feb. 24. Officers of the social club will be installed at this meeting and a valentine party will follow when secret pals will be revealed.
Next regular meeting of the corps is set for Tuesday, Feb. 17 when a school of instruction is to be conducted by Ruth Johnson and her staff. A 50-cent chicken luncheon will be served.
Tomorrow the national president, Grace Johnson, will be at the Bilmore hotel in Los Angeles where a luncheon is to be given.
Attending the luncheon from Anaheim will be five members of the local corps, they are Mary Mitchell, Mary Fordyce, Leona Hull, Alice Robert and Etta Countess.
Vocational Nurses Graduate at FJC Friday, Feb. 6
Now ready, after a year's training, to enter a field of vital need, 11 women will graduate as vocational nurses in ceremonies at Fullerton junior college Friday evening, Feb. 6.
Ten others having finished five months of pre-clinical training will take their vocational nurse's pledge prior to entering clinical training at Orange county general hospital.
The ceremonies will take place in the college lounge at 7:30 p.m. with a reception for friends and relatives.

Stanton Sunshine And Shower Club Dinner Given
Mmes. Conna E. Pollack and William C. Birmley were hostesses at the monthly dinner for husbands and guests Saturday night in the Starr st. clubhouse of the Stanton Sunshine and Shower club.
The Birmleys were just back from a six weeks' trip to the middle west where they visited her two sisters and four brothers.
Special guests were Mrs. Grace Overton, Mrs. Robert Clark's sister from northern California, and the Pollack's houseguests, Mrs. Belle Fitzgerald from Michigan, and Mr. and Mrs. Mack Butler from South Gate.
The regular business meeting will be Thursday afternoon, Feb. 12 in the Elijah Briggs home on Winston rd.
Mrs. Daniel Honored at Layette Shower
Women of the Cypress Baptist church Missionary union honored Mrs. L. R. Daniel recently with a lovely layette shower.
Hostesses were Mrs. Peggy Stillwell, Mrs. Christine Cardin and Mrs. Bessie McCoy. Special guest was the honoree's mother, Mrs. J. T. Hall, Ruth Darnell, Martha Warman and Ruby Ingram won prizes for high scores.

Guest speaker for the ceremony will be Dr. William H. Wickett, Jr. of Fullerton. Opportunities for vocational nurses and the importance of this field of work in light of the shortage of nurses will be discussed by Dr. Wickett.
Dr. H. Lynn Sheller, director of the junior college, will preside. Certificates of graduation will be presented by Francis N. Laird, president of the college board of trustees. Mrs. Olive Morris, R. N., director of vocational nursing, will present the graduates with their pins. Invocation and benediction will be asked by Rev. Carlton C. Buck, First Christian church, Fullerton.
After receiving their pins, the graduates will join with those entering clinical training to sing "One World" (O'Hara) and one of the graduates, Mrs. Marcella Mead, will sing "The Lord's Prayer" (Mallotte).
