"Everybody cannot be a success," said Dr. Mandel Sherman, medical director of the Reiss-Davis Child Guidance clinic, in addressing the Association for Early Childhood Guidance Clinic, attended by 1000 teachers. In fact, Dr. Sherman told the teachers that courses in "how to fail gracefully" should be included in the public schools. "Children brought up on the slogan of 'You must and you will' are more likely to break down under the stress of having too much expected of them,' he added. "We have the idea that everybody should be a rugged individualist. Adults want their boys to be masculine. They encourage them to fight. A portrait of the famed scientist and first president of Israel appears on two new Israeli stamps. Both designs are the same. At the left of Weizmann's profile portrait on each adhesive is a religious symbol. The 30-pruta stamp is grey and the 110-pruta is dark blue. These aqua marine stamps are identical. They show a world globe flanked by the letters "U.N." ... There were 1,500,000 stamps sold on the first day sale of the Newspaper Boys commemorative postage stamp ... The Belgian Congo has issued the third portion of its flower set. The six newest in the series have arrived in this country, reports the New York Stamp Co. new stamps have been designed by Wind-Strucki after a sketch by Errell of Tel Aviv. To celebrate the 70th birthday of King Gustaf VI Adolf, Sweden has issued three new stamps. The 10-ore-plus-10 green, 25-ore-plus-10 red and 40-ore-plus-10 blue depict a side view portrait of the monarch. The surcharge of 10-ore on each stamp will go to a fund for Swedish culture. Brazil has issued a new 60-centavos green and yellow stamp to honor the city planning and industrialization of Sao Paulo. Pictured on the stamp is a view of the city with a large compass trisecting the adhesive. Also issued by Brazil was a 60-c red brown stamp for Padre Lilogo Antonio Feljo (1784-1843), noted statesman in early South American history. In the newly published volume II of Scott's Standard Postage Stamp Catalogue (Europe, Asia and Africa) many changes have been made that will interest collectors. Nearly all the prices for the AMG Trieste overprints have been raised. "That is Mr. Chaplin's private affair," the secretary said. "And I never discuss his private affairs with him." Chaplin himself who has been staying here since he arrived from England last week, could not be reached today.
