PHILADELPHIA — AIR FORCE PLANE CRASHES IN WOODS—Three men were killed and three others injured when this C47 U.S. Air Force plane crashed in a wooded area near Northeast Philadelphia Airport. The plane, en route from Niagara Falls, N. Y., to Mitchell Field, Long Island, N. Y., was unable to land there because of weather conditions and proceeded to Philadelphia where it crashed.

A certain Samaritan bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine.—Luke 10:33-34
IT HAPPENED — Elbert Hatch wasn't as lucky as a lot of folks. He lost his life at the "Coroner's Corner" — Lemon and Orange thorpe.
Signals have been on order, but they won't be installed until February or March of next year.
That corner is a death trap!
It is little wonder that there aren't more serious accidents on that intersection. Orangethorpe is an express highway. There's no crossing that boulevard when they change shifts at the Northrop plant.
All kinds of excuses have been advanced why signals aren't being installed. A lot of rubber is being burned and a lot of tempers are frayed by the narrow squeaks.
Yes, the price of the "Coroner's Corner" signals is high. How many more lives will it cost before they are installed?
HOME STRETCH — The politicians will have a little more than a month before the people speak. This year Anaheim has a record number of voters registered.
NUGGETS—Jewell Owens will certainly win all jaysee conference honors if he keeps up the good work for Dick Spaulding's Fullerton college Hornets. They tell me that San Bernardino is the team to beat in jaysee football circles. Honestly, it wouldn't be surprising if either Bill Cook's Santa Ana Dons or Orange Coast upset 'em. Both teams are loaded with Anaheimers. On the prep front, it looks like Ed Goddard's Huntington Beach Oilers will be in the thick of it. With the Boswell twins—Bob and Bill—and Morrill Pusifer operating behind a powerful line, the former All-American who quit Fullerton seems to have it. And don't forget the outstanding job Clare Van Hoorebeke is doing at Anahi. The Colonists graduated a foot-
"Where is the man from Viet-Nam?" or more strictly, "the lad," is the question registration officials are asking at Fullerton junior college.
It is not a catch question or the catchline from a TV mystery show. The lad from Hong-Khank Hue, Viet-Nam (the old French Indo-China) is Ton That (N.P.) Duong. He applied for admission to Fullerton junior college last summer.
That he learned about Fullerton junior college is further evidence of the renown of the local college.
In a letter written in August to Robert E. Swenson, dean of men, Duong wrote that he would leave for the United States Sept. 5. "I enclose herewith a photo of mine to make myself known easily once when I come first time in Fullerton," he wrote.
Arrangements have been made by Dr. Swenson for living quarters and board for the lad from Viet-Nam. According to a later letter from Madame Ton That Qujen, Duong's mother, he would not leave Saigon for the United States until Sept. 20. In Saigon, he had been delayed for a visit with relatives.
Duong is interested in learning what will be expected of him in the United States. "Will you be so kind as to help and indicate what I will have to do when I am there, because I don't know very well about the ways of living in California," he asked, and continued, "I have tried without success to get some information through books. We run short of all kinds of books especially about America."
Dr. Swenson has assured Madame Qujen by letter that it will be easy for her son to make friends and learn the ways of America at Fullerton. Now everyone in the college offices is wondering when Duong, whose picture looks as though he were 14 or 15, will arrive in Fullerton.

be surprising if either Bill Cook's Santa Ana Dons or Orange Coast upset 'em. Both teams are loaded with Anaheimers... On the prep front, it looks like Ed Goddard's Huntington Beach Oilers will be in the thick of it. With the Boswell twins—Bob and Bill—and Morrill Pusifer operating behind a powerful line, the former All-American who quit Fullerton seems to have it... And don't forget the outstanding job Clare Van Hoorebke is doing at Anahi. The Colonists graduated a football team last spring. Van has a building job on his hands. His team plays football... Charles (Sunday) Durland's Coronado eleven upset San Diegoguito, 19-6. He's as game as they come and apparently is getting his team to play that kind of ball.
NOTES—Danny Rowland and Joe Hernandez are the men behind the Anaheim teams in the Oranco winter league organized in Anaheim by Orange's Ralph Frick. Jimmy Heffron, Anaheim's Korean war veteran, promised J.F. Lemon that he would hit a home run for him. He realized his ambition at Corona last Sunday; but Duane Pennington, Bridgford's apprentice sausage maker, stole some of Little Jim's thunder by blasting two... Jack Dutton decided to give up his hilltop hacienda. He acquired the property at the corner of Raymond and Orangethorpe. That's the place they had up for a boys' school until the Anaheim planning commission objected... Cecil Crew is said to have taken over Dutton's hilltop estate. Dutton is a bird and chimp fancier. Incidentally, that chimp has become a celebrity in his own right... Les Thompson is one of Dutton's new neighbors... Guess, Otto Itso started the migration to the country.
NITECAPSULE—If you try to judge the present by the past, you'll find the future isn't as bright as it should be.

YOU ARE HEREBY cited to be and appear in the Superior Court of the State of California, in and for the County of Orange, at the Courtroom of Department J in the City of Santa Ana, County of Orange, on the 1st day of December, 1952, at 9:30 o'clock A.M. of that day, then and there to show cause, if any you have, why this Court should not make its order judiciously depriving Coy Lamar O'Donnell of the custody and control of Lawrence O'Donnel and why this Court should not make its order committing Lawrence O'Donnell to the care of the Children's Home Society of California until further order of this Court.

Election Called
ATHENS, Greece (P) — King Paul today ordered the Greek Parliament dissolved and called a general election in an effort to get a majority government that might aid the nation's grave economic situation.
The King's decision ended several weeks of unsuccessful efforts to get Field Marshal Alexander Papagos, whose right-wing Greek Rally party is the largest in Parliament, to join Premier Nicholas Plastiras and Deputy Premier Sophocles Venizelos in a national government.
