Recreation Dept. Dancing Classes To Be Resumed Instruction in social dancing will be available to Anaheim youngsters again this year through co-operation of the Anaheim City Recreation department and the Fremont Parent-Teachers Assn., it was announced today. Classes begin tonight for Eighth graders in the Fremont school cafeteria under the instruction of Don Derr, recreation department director. Seventh graders will meet only on Thursdays. Only requirement for admission to classes, according to Derr, is a neat appearance. Levi's, "T" shirts and shoes with taps will not be considered proper dress for boys, he pointed out. The same neat appearance rule applies to girls, also, he said. Instruction will include social conduct as well as actual dance stops. Basic dance steps only will be taught. Novelty dances, such as jitterbug and the Charleston, will not be taught. Parents are urged to attend the classes and guests are welcome, Derr said. Native of Iowa Dies Recently Mrs. Elizabeth V. Johnson died in her home, 9531 Redfern st., Inglewood, Friday, at the age of 58 years. She had been a resident of Inglewood for two years, lived seven years in California and was born in Keokuk, Iowa. She is survived by two sons, Herbert Eastman of Georgia, and William of Kansas; her father, Edward Johnson of Anaheim; one sister, Mrs. Ester Spies of Anaheim and two brothers, Oscar and Carl Johnson, both of St. Louis. Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Backs, Campbell and Kaulbars Wednesday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Harry Stief officiating. Interment will be held in the Fairhaven cemetery. Louis Snyder Dies Saturday Mr. Louis Snyder died at his home, 9041 Magnolia st., Saturday at the age of 72 years after living in Anaheim for over three years. He was born in New York. Surviving are his wife, Blanche L. Snyder of Anaheim; one son, Harry S. Snyder of Conn., one brother, Charles of New York and two grandchildren.
