Division of Tax Dollar Revealed
Property tax dollar in Orange county for 1950-51 was divided 46 cents for school districts, 26 cents for general county purposes, 16 cents for the cities, and 12 cents for special districts. California Taxpayers' association reported today. Total levy for 1950-51 was $21,159,447.
Ten years ago, in 1941-42, the property tax dollar in the county was divided 42 cents for school districts, 25 cents for general county purposes, 24 cents for the cities, and nine cents for special districts. Total property tax levy in 1941-42 in the county was $6,-945,051.
Statewide, the $798,241,231 property tax bill in California for 1950-51 was divided 39 per cent for school districts, 38 per cent for general county purposes, 46 per cent for cities, and seven per cent for special districts.
For 1941-42, the statewide $321,734,456 property tax bill was divided 33 per cent for school districts, 39 per cent for general county purposes, 21 per cent for cities, and seven per cent for special districts.

SENDAI, JAPAN (P)—John M. Salveson, 8115 Sunkist ave., Anaheim, currently serving with the 40th Infantry Division in Japan, today was promoted to the grade of corporal in the 40th Band.
As a member of the former Southern California National Guard Division, he is part of a security force for Japan's main island of Honshu.
He completed basic training with the 40th at Camp Cooke, Calif., and arrived in Japan in April.
The 40th, first Guard Division to be sent overseas since World War II, is currently undergoing a rigorous advanced training program.
Along with Oklahoma's 45th Infantry Division, it is part of the XVI Corps.
Amateur Vaudeville Talent Hunted for Orange County Fair
Calling all amateur vaudeville actors.
The Orange County Fair is looking for talented amateurs wanting to strut their stuff on the stage at the free, outdoor shows to be presented throughout the day during the 1951 event scheduled for Aug. 15-19, inclusive.
