Kentuucky Trip Reported by Local Couple
"Kentucky or Bust" was the theme of Mr. and Mrs. James Yates of 207½ No. Helena st., three weeks ago, now it's "Are we glad to be home."
Last Friday morning the couple arrived in Amaheim, brown but tired after driving to and from Kentucky. Both of them are natives of the thoroughbred state. They moved to Anaheim about six years ago.
They traveled through Blythe, Amarillo, Tex., Oklahoma City, and Memphis, Tenn., on the return trip. In the east summer showers occur almost every day, roads and bridges are washed out in many places, according to the vacationers.
They spent part of their vacation visiting relatives and friends in Bowling Green, Paducah and Mayfield. The rest of the time they combed the antique shops, coming up with a hundred year old pint sized grandfather's clock and several ancient picture frames some with the original prints still intact.
On the way home, via route 66, they went through St. Louis, Denver, Salt Lake City, Utah; and Las Vegas.
Now that they are home, their work has just begun. During their spare time this week they will be moving into their new home in Fullerton.

Kenneth Lae Claims Mary Webb As Bride in Pretty Service Here
In one of the loveliest of this season's wedding services, Miss Mary Webb, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Webb of West Broadway, and Kenneth Lae, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alex Lae of Fullerton were united Saturday evening at St. Michael's Episcopal church.
The Rev. John Kimball Saville read the double ring rites before the church altar decorated in white gladioli and carnations with tall candelabra at each side.
Wearing a gown of chantilly lace over white slipper satin, the bride was given in marriage by her father. A wide ruffle of accordion pleating created an off shoulder effect on the bodice and was emphasized by a yoke of sheer net. A white cap held her veil and she carried an arrangement of white gladioli and stephanotis.
Matron of honor, Mrs. John Craddock, wore a full length gown of pale green, the bodice in lace with mitts to match. Identical ensembles were worn by bridesmaids Mrs. James Dibb and Miss Jackie Roy. All carried bouquets of pink carnations.
Best man was Roy Lae and ushers were Fred and Peter Lae.
"Ava Maria," "Because", and "The Lord's Prayer" were sung by soloist William Fackiner with Miss Hazel Erickson at the organ.
At the reception which followed the ceremony, Mrs. Gene Richards and Mrs. Ray Butler assisted in serving. The guest book was passed by Miss Maxine Stueckle.
Mrs. Webb received guests in a dusty rose lace and crepe dinner dress with dove grey accessories and an orchid corsage.
Norwalk will be the future home of the couple on return from their honeymoon trip. The bride attended Anaheim High school, Fullerton Junior college and the University of Southern California where she affiliated with Gamma Phi Beta sorority. Her husband was graduated from Fullerton High school and Junior college and attended UCLA.
On the way home, via route 66, they went through St. Louis, Denver, Salt Lake City, Utah; and Las Vegas.

affidavits were filed by Sheriff James Musick, Santa Ana Police Chief B. A. Hershey, District Attorney Davis, J. A. Moore, California Highway Patrol; and Burt M. Wells, assistant cashier of the Southern Counties bank at Buena Park.
Davis referred in his affidavit to the heavy cost of conducting the trial in San Francisco with the necessity of transporting witnesses to and from such a distance. He has 29 witnesses under subpoena and expects to call half a dozen others.
Davis opposed the change of venue with a supreme court decision given in the case of a popular highway patrol officer murdered in Madera county. The case was brought to trial within 24 days, change of venue having been denied. The supreme court ruled on appeal that while public sentiment naturally would be aroused, it would have subsided within the 24 days elapsing before trial. Davis pointed out that the start of the McCracken trial today comes 50 days after the alleged murder.
