They're putting Yorba Linda on the map. Paul Netherland was responsible for the design and construction of the intricate, animated exhibit. He built most of it in his own workshop. Hoyt Corbit, the Yorba Linda booster, and Ole Martin co-ordinated the details that went into making the community enterprise a success. August Marshburn selected the fruit personally for the dazzling display. "Winning any kind of a prize against professional competition is quite an honor," Val Lucas said. Valdo Smith would add that Yorba Linda won first place last year, and took second places in 1949 and 1948. That's quite a distinction. Yorba Linda is proud of its achievement.
