Inches, is concrete reinforced with steel and lined with Amercoat T-Lock liner, a plastic impervious to the corrosive action of sewer wastes. Holyoke explained that the liquid sewage does not damage concrete, but that the gases given off by it will eat through 1½ or 2 inch concrete in a matter of five years. The Amercoat lines the pipes all around the inside except for the bottom section in which the liquid will run.
Sections are joined with concrete on the outside and concrete and strips of Amercoat on the inside to insure turbulence-free joints. The bottom portion inside is not joined smoothly because residue deposited by the sewage will soon fill the cracks and make its own smooth channel, Holyoke explained.
Brown and Vukich of Los Angeles are the contractors for Section 3, which is completed from Katella ave., to Orange ave. It will extend to Orangethorpe when completed. Four-foot tensions of vitrified clay pipe used and in some spots are being deep as 18 feet. Paul Vu who was on the job yesterday plained that his crew is ahead schedule with over 8000 feet ready laid.
Section 1 includes 2700 feet 78-inch pipe and 19,000 feet 48-inch at a cost of $707,000. Section 2 will take 10,500 feet 48-inch and 10,100 feet of 42-inch pipe and will cost $748,777. Section 3 calls for 26,500 feet 39-inch vitrified clay pipe will cost $763,803.20.
Holyoke said the contracts for completion of the sewer trench by July 1, 1951, but said no factors make it hard to predict the exact date. As City Engineer for Anaheim, the contracting firm for the Joint Outfall Sewer Holyoke's office is charged with responsibility for the sewer construction. Nat H. Neff is english in charge of the field work.

The light portion of the pipe indicated by Holyoke is the bottom of the line. Darker portion is Amercoat plastic lining for resistance to corrosive gases from sewage.
25th Birthday for Harry I. Horn Co.
Of particular interest to the Harry I. Horn Company in Anaheim today is the announcement of the new 25th anniversary model of the Servel refrigerators. Reason for the interest in the 25th anniversary is the fact that it is also the 25th anniversary of the Harry I. Horn Company. Harry I. Horn, owner and founder of the firm, says that this new Servel, with all its wonderful features is the finest refrigerator ever produced by the Servel company. There are many famous features, features that save both time and money in the operation of the refrigerator.
There are eight new models to choose from, and Mr. Horn has extended an invitation to each and every one to come out to his place of business on 101 Highway between Anaheim and Fullerton to see the new Servels.
The average motor truck in the United States today is seven years old.
