Washburn, wealthy soft-drink manufacturer, (7 Up), was ordered to pay his estranged wife $1850 a month and stop swearing at her. Superior Judge Kurtz Kauffman awarded Mrs. Zona Washburn, 34, the money as temporary support for her and their four children pending a divorce hearing. She charged that Washburn, 51, had called her "vile names", in the children's presence. Washburn, who is suing for divorce, won the right to remove his collection of guns—including a $1200 gold-plated shotgun—cameras and a model railroad from their 20-room San Marino home. The house, a $100,000 yacht and $1 million in life insurance are listed as community property in the suit. Lowrey Tops Lindell in Golf PASADENA (UP) — Harry (Peanuts) Lowrey of the St. Louis Cardinals defeated Johnny Lindell of the Hollywood Stars 75-79 in Stringer Revokes Hollywood Pact HOLLYWOOD (UP) — Lou Stringer, who once managed the Hollywood Stars, has returned his 1951 contract unsigned to the management. The Stars purchased Stringer this winter from the Boston Red Sox. Lou says Hollywood's offering salary is too low and that he doesn't intend to take a "major amputation" of his 1950 pay. Manager Fred Haney has been planning to station Stringer at short or third, since Buddy Hicks and Jim Baxes won't be back. Stringer's regular position is at second but he did utility work at Boston.
