(Amended by The Associated Newspapers) ANAHEIM GAZETTE WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 14, 1951 ANAHEIM, CALIFORNIA Three to Eight Years KOREAN WAR Continued from Page 1 Wonju sector inflicted severe casualties. Fighting still raged both there and at Chipyong. Two Chinese red divisions were reported shattered "in a welter blood, bombs and shellfire" on the central front and two other divisions were badly mauled, a fled dispatch said. It added: "The Chinese dead lay by the thousands on all sides of rounded Chipyong. Other those sands were heaped up also in the river valley eight miles west northwest of Wonju where the stumbled into a murderous tide and artillery ambush." On the Western front, American Doughboys mowed down 11 red Korean sneak troops who crossed the Han river and slipped inside Allied lines. They captured nearly 250 more communist soldiers. American machine-guns clown fleeing remnants of the red Korean force as they tried splash back across the flan. Allied losses were reported small. U. S. 25th Division troops wiped out two red patrols who were stalking boldly across Sand Land, a sandbar in the Han bay between Seoul and its industrial suburb, Yongdungpo. The 60 reds in the patrol used Korean civilians as a shield. A signal, the civilians dropped the ground and the reds fired at Allied forces on the south bank.
