It with boiled frosting, tinted pink of course, and outlined with Valentine candies. But if there is no time for cake making, a store bought angel food cake served with strawberry ice cream will do just as well.
In case you want to "make do" with what you have on hand, how about a snow pudding? Serve it with custard sauce colored red or whip up a bright topping from jelly, jam or a can of red cherries.
SNOW PUDDING
2 tablespoons granulated gelatin
½ cup cold water
½ cup boiling water
2¼ cup cold water
1 cup sugar
¼ cup lemon juice
Soak gelatin in one half cup of cold water for five minutes. Add to the boiling water and stir until dissolved. Add the remaining ingredients and set in a cold place. When it begins to congeal, beat with an egg beater until frothy. Pour into a mold and chill.
A TOUGH BASKETBALL FEAT
EAST LANSING, Mich., CP—Michigan State Basketball teams once racked up three consecutive undefeated seasons, a feat practically impossible today. But*the Spartans, then the Michigan Aggies, did it back in 1901, 1902, and 1903. They played three, five and six games in each season, respectively.
MMM! THEY'RE HOLDING FIRE TO WATCH THE SHOW. UNORTHODOX BUT EFFECTIVE!
