Grace Lutheran Plans Special Easter Service Easter Sunday, 1950, will be long remembered by members, friends, and all those attending Grace Lutheran festivities on this memorable day. Two different services, a movie on the Easter Message, special choir anthems by both the Junior and Senior choirs, and a most beautifully decorated church cannot help but instill the true Easter Spirit into every person of the community who attends. Anticipating overflow crowds, two services are being provided, the first one beginning at 7:15 a.m., and the second at 10:45 a.m. Rev. H. F. Stief, pastor of the church, will speak on "The Easter Gospel" at the first service, while his topic for the second service will be "World Shaking News." "The First Easter," a 30 minute sound motion picture will be shown during the congregation at study hour beginnig at 9:30 a.m. This is a film everyone should see to deepen their faith and to have the Easter message graphically portrayed before them. Special music will also glorify the Lord on this day. Junior choir, ages 8-13, will render the anthem at the 8:15 service. Led by Mrs. Faye Schimming, they will sing "Go Tell—He Is Risen." At the 10:45 services, Mr. Swadburg, director, will lead the Senior choir while they sing two anthems, "Now Let Heaven and Earth Adore Thee" by Bach, and "Open the Gates of the Temple" by Knapp. An abundance of white flowers and decorations will also tell of our Risen Lord. A large cross formed out of lilies is to be placed at the 8:15 service. Led by Mrs. Faye Schimming, they will sing "Go Tell—He Is Risen." A large cross formed out of lilies is to be placed on the altar. All members of the congregation have been asked to bring white flowers or lilies for this occasion. Mrs. Benzel is in charge of decorations. Truly, the church will be beautiful. Grace Lutheran extends to everyone an invitation to attend these Easter services. Q. M. Ressler Outlines Policy Of Candidacy Dr. Q. M. Ressler, candidate for city council, has outlined his policy as a city councilman on his ticket. Dr. Ressler is a property owner in Anaheim, his home being at 710 South Philadelphia street, and he maintains his optometric office at 614 North Los Angeles street. He and Mrs. Ressler have two sons in Anaheim schools and are vitally interested in public affairs of their home town. Following are the eight points in his program: 1. Establishment of "Open-Door" policy. 2. Industrial development with immediate access to the Freeway and Orangethorpe. 3. Prohibit establishment of truck routes on any residential street in the city of Anaheim, especially in southwest Anaheim and northeast Anaheim where they do not now exist. Truck traffic can be adequately handled on state supported streets in the city. 4. Encouragement of home building by individuals for themselves to suit their individual requirements. 5. Limitation of subdivisions by quantity and quality rather than size and price. God must have loved the poor people or he would not have made so many of them. 6. Determination of city policies by residents of the city. 7. An active, aggressive, self-supporting Chamber of Commerce is essential. But it is equally es- 4. Everything that is good for Anaheim and nothing that is not good for Anaheim.
