Reject Appeal Of Henry Owen Decision of the fourth district court of appeals, just received here, affirms the superior court judgment of Judge Raymond Thompson which denied the suit of Henry Owen to cancel an agreement to purchase the McDonald Cottage Shops in Anaheim. Owen also sought recovery of money he had paid into escrow under the agreement, claiming that there were certain pieces of equipment missing and that the seller, Howard McDonald, had made false representations. The court rejected these charges and decided in favor of McDonald. Y-TEENS HOLD MEETINGS The Y-Teens had their regular meetings on Tuesday evening with the freshmen and juniors having Mrs. Wheatley speak to them on their nutrition program. The seniors held a separate business meeting and the sophomores held a surprise birthday party for their president, Jane Garner, who is leaving next month to live in Italy. NOMINATE ON MARCH 2 At their regular stated business session on Thursday, February 16, the Veterans of Foreign Wars announced that at the next meeting on March 2 there would be a nomination of officers. Old Age Pensions Smoothed for County Help SACRAMENTO, (WNS) — The difficulties surrounding return of old age pensions to county operation from the state, insofar as federal financing are concerned, have been eliminated, the Governor's office was advised today. The federal security agency advised Governor Earl Warren that the public assistance plans of California have been approved by the agency, and that federal grants for aged and blind aid soon will be forwarded to this state by the U.S. treasury. EBELL BRIDGE Mrs. George LaFollette, instructing in place of Mrs. Sells at the last bridge section of the Anaheim Ebell club, discussed responses to opening bids and jump raises in new suits. Asks $200,000 For Beaches In County SACRAMENTO, (WNS) — The state division of beaches and parks propose expenditures of $3,488,161 for capital outlay in the 1950-51 fiscal year, according to figures submitted to the assembly ways and means committee. For acquisition of real property for state beaches in Orange county, the division asks $200,000. Acquisition of additional real property for parks, the division asks $5,000 for Bidwell Bar, Butte county; and $50,000 for townsite acquisition in Columbia, Tuolumne county. In addition, the division wants $109,500 for a sewage system at Columbia and $120,000 for a storage dam at Big Basin, Santa Cruz county. A total of $28,750 is asked for water supply at Columbia.
