Class Room of Proposed $450,000 Stanton School This will be a typical classroom of the new $450,000 school plant to be built in Stanton, to serve the Savanna school district. The latest innovations will be used in this classroom. Bond election for the Savanna district is being held January 17, to raise $45,000 which is applied on the cost of the new school plant. Under terms of recently-passed Prop. No. 1 of the state of California will provide the remainder. Hold Bond Election for New School Savanna school district will hold a bond election on January 17, 1950. If passed, bonds in the amount of $45,000 will be issued and sold. The money received will be applied on the cost of a new school plant. Under terms of the recently-passed Prop. 1, the state of California will provide the remainder of the money for the building of an entirely new $450,-000.00 plant. Proposed plans call for separate play areas and buildings for the Native Sons Seat Officers Harold Rice of Placentia was seated president of Mother Colony 281 Native Sons of the Golden West during open installation ceremonies Tuesday night at the Knights of Columbus hall, this city. Officiating as installing officer was Dwight Williams, district deputy of Arrowhead Parlor 110, San Bernardino. Other officers seated with Rice included Clark Smith of Placentia, senior past president; Alexis Pelous, Anaheim, junior past president; Ralph Beatty, Placentia, first vice-president; Leonard Schwacofer, Anaheim, second vice-president. Set Inquest For 3 Traffic Deaths Inquest was scheduled at 3 p.m. Thursday in the Baltz mortuor Corona Del Mar, in the case three traffic accident victims, killed early Saturday in a head collision at Crystal Cove, on Coast highway south of Corrina Del Mar. Both drivers, Lt. Dean C. Ball 27, of Camp Pendleton, and I O'Hanesian, 23, South Gate, were killed. Third victim was 17-year-old Elizabeth Freel of Long Beach riding in O'Hanesian's car, who carried six passengers. Lt. Ball was alone. Critically injured were William M. Robertson, 21, Joe Logan, and Patricia Ann Cook, 18, all Long Beach. With John Kevorki Savanna school district will hold a bond election on January 17, 1950. If passed, bonds in the amount of $45,000 will be issued and sold. The money received will be applied on the cost of a new school plant. Under terms of the recently-passed Prop. 1, the state of California will provide the remainder of the money for the building of an entirely new $450,-000.00 plant. Proposed plans call for separate play areas and buildings for the upper grades, including a wood-shop and a home economics room; a twelve room lower grade unit; kindergarten unit; administration building; a completely modern auditorium and cafeteria with all necessary cooking facilities; and a teachers' room. An outstanding feature of the construction as planned by school architect H. L. Cogerty of Los Angeles is the use of cross lighting for the classrooms. The overhanging roofs for the south arcades are so constructed that hazardous supporting posts can be eliminated. In all, the new Savanna school will provide the latest and best in schoolhouse planning. It will be a truly model school. Electors are urged to vote for the bonds at this special election to provide their children with a new school. Polling place is the Savanna school on Ball Road, and the hours are from 12 Noon to 7:00 P.M. The use of steel as a structural material was developed in the closing years of the nineteenth century.
