Under terms of the recently-passed Prop. 1, the state of California will provide the remainder of the money for the building of an entirely new $450,-000.00 plant.
Proposed plans call for separate play areas and buildings for the upper grades, including a wood-shop and a home economics room; a twelve room lower grade unit; kindergarten unit; administration building; a completely modern auditorium and cafeteria with all necessary cooking facilities; and a teachers' room.
An outstanding feature of the construction as planned by school architect H. L. Cogerty of Los Angeles is the use of cross lighting for the classrooms. The overhanging roofs for the south arcades are so constructed that hazardous supporting posts can be eliminated. In all, the new Savanna school will provide the latest and best in schoolhouse planning. It will be a truly model school.
Electors are urged to vote for the bonds at this special election to provide their children with a new school. Polling place is the Savanna school on Ball Road, and the hours are from 12 Noon to 7:00 P.M.
