SUMMER RECREATION PROGRAM was featured by the Junior League in which 164 local boys under 13 teams in a comprehensive sports program. City merchants and business men furnished shirts and caps for finished the season with a 'burger bust' in the city park. Hanson, chairman of the Christmas Seal Sale of the Orange County Tuberculosis and Health Association, announced today the inauguration of a traveling Information Service which will become a year round activity of the TB Association. Russell, Orange county health officer. Hanson also stated that reminders have gone into the mail to those recipients of Christmas Seals who have not yet replied. Easterbrook, USAF Retired, as USO County Chairman for Orange county in its forthcoming campaign for funds, was announced today by Maj. Gen. Ralph P. Cousins, southern California USO chairman. Gen. Cousins pointed out: "The USO was included in the budgets of several Community Chests in Orange county, including those of Lopez of Peralta, Mrs. Antonio de Los Reyes, Placentia, and Mrs. Juanita Martinez of Placentia, and 16 grandchildren." In ceremonies last week the trailer, to be called the "Healthmobile," was presented to the TB Association. The Healthmobile, under the sponsorship of local service clubs, will appear in every community in the county disseminating information. Transcriptions, exhibits, literature and an information desk will be part of the unit. This type of unit is the first of its kind to be used by a tuberculosis association on the Pacific Coast and perhaps in the United States. Guadalupe Duran Passes Last Week Guadalupe Perez Duran, 58 years of age, passed away at her home at 208 South Murray street in Placentia on Tuesday of last week, December 20. Born in Mexico, she has lived in the United States and Placentia for the past 35 years. Surviving are her husband, Pascal M. Duran of the home; two sons, Pomposo P. His assignment immediately previous to the Santa Ana Air Base Command in 1944 was Chief of Staff of the Western Training Command in Denver. Wm. C. Bunyard Claimed by Death William Carroll Bunyard, a native of California, passed away on Thursday of last week, December 22, at the age of 63 years. He had been a resident of Orange county for 45 years and the last four years he resided in Huntington Beach, 5938 Lewis avenue. Surviving are one brother, Leslie Bunyard of Long Beach, and two sisters, Mrs. Hazel A. Crawford of San Pedro and Mrs. Hattie N. Gluesing of Fontana. Funeral services were held at Backs, Campbell and Kaulbars chapel Tuesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Al Casebeer, pastor of the First Christian church, officiating. Interment was in Fairhaven cemetery. GATHER FOR ANNUAL REUNION A buffet supper of delicious home-made bread, ham, jelly, coffee and assorted cookies and candies was served by Mrs. Anna Minder, 205½ South Ohio street, who was hostess to her three sons and their families Christmas eve. Present were Mr. and Mrs. Howard Minder and their daughter, Laurel, and baby son, Donald; Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Minder, of Costa Mesa, and Mr. and Mrs. Safford Minder and children, Teddy Lou and Michael of Big Bear Lake. Also present were Mrs. Bob Quarton of Anaheim, parents of Mrs. Howard (Bebe) Minder, and Mrs. Arch Quarton, mother of Mrs. Safford (Nellie) Minder. SPEND CHRISTMAS HOLIDAY IN RIVERSIDE Mr. and Mrs. R. F. Nipper of 213 E. Water street, were holiday guests of her sister, Mrs. W. C. Kelley and Mr. Kelley in Riverside. They left here Saturday and returned home Monday evening. On Sunday, Christmas Day, Mr. and Mrs. F. S. Nipper of 753 North Sabina street, this city, were also guests in the Kelley home.
