Study Youth Problems at Institute Meet A greater awareness of youth problems and specific techniques for handling a survey with possible solution of those problems was presented by Dan Pursuit, director of the delinquency control institute of U.S.C. at the monthly meeting of the Orange County Council of Community Agencies last night. President Mrs. Hilda B. Redmond opened the meeting and David MacMillan, county probation officer, presented the speaker and presided over the discussion period at the conclusion of the talk on "How Orange County Council of Community Agencies Can Be of Benefit in the Youth Program of Orange County." One hundred nineteen written questions were turned in from those present last night. These will be sorted into comparable areas for study and plans will be brought out before the group following a talk by Judge Morrison at the next meeting which is the fourth Monday of each month. An amicable arrangement for coordination of the Crippled Children's Society of California is hoped to be reached in the near future was reported by Dr. Edw. Lee Russell, chairman of the council committee appointed to study that question of possible duplication and overlapping services. Other projects of the county being studied by the council are dental health, children's receiving home, and a directory of social agencies in Orange county. Telephone Co. Files Extended Service Plan The Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Company announced today that it filed on October 31 with the California Public Utilities Commission a report covering a possible plan for providing extended telephone service in Orange county. The filing was made in accordance with the Commission's order of July 26, 1949. This report, according to local manager R. J. Rossberg, involved an analysis of the toll telephone calls of Orange county subscribers and a study of revenues, expense and plant effects of introducing extended service. Under the possible plan, Mr. Rossberg said, the toll-free calling area of each Orange county exchange would be enlarged to include nearby exchanges but at higher monthly exchange service rates. To introduce the extended service plan would cost the company almost one million dollars in addition to the cost of converting the existing manual offices to dial. There still remains much work to be done before a final plan can be formulated. However, the telephone company is arranging with Orange county representatives and interested groups and individuals to discuss and explain the plan. Anna E. Hutain Claimed by Death Anna E. Hutain, 51 years of age passed away at the family home at 846 North Lemon street, the city, on Wednesday, October 27 Born in Jackson county, Minnesota, she had resided in Anaheim for the past eleven years. The deceased was a member of St. Boniface Catholic church and the Parent-Teachers Association. Surviving are her husband Charles E. Hutain of the home three sons, Robert, John and James, all of the home; three daughters, Mrs. Frank Monnig and Miss Alice Hutain, both of Anaheim and Mrs. Joe McCall Minnesota, seven grandchildren one brother, Lewis Balling Minnesota, and one sister, Mr. Mollie Hutain of Anaheim. Recitation of Holy Rosary was held Sunday evening at 7:0'clock in the chapel of Badh Campbell and Keulbars mortuary with Mass at St. Boniface church Monday at 9 a.m. Interment will be in Holy Sepulchre cemetery.
