Urge Export Of Oranges To Europe Production and Marketing Administration of the United States Department of Agriculture today announced that it will develop a program to encourage exports of oranges from the United States to European countries eligible to receive aid under the Foreign Assistance Act of 1948. The program will provide for payment up to one-half of f.a.s. U.S. Port price (computed before deduction of such payment). A near record production of oranges is in prospect this season and the program will assist in marketing this crop. Announcements containing full details of this program will be mailed soon to all known shippers and processors of citrus fruits. Local VFW Post Meets Tonight Anaheim Post No. 3173, Veterans of Foreign Wars, will meet tonight (Thursday) at 8 o'clock in their new club rooms located at 108 North Philadelphia street (Anaheim Union Water Company Building), it was announced today by Ray Mallonee, commander of the local post. "Our first meeting in the new clubrooms," Commander Mallonee stated, "will also mark the beginning of our 1950 membership drive." "All overseas veterans are invited." Masons to Hear Guest from China Activities of Masons in China will be revealed by Alfred S. Lee, Grand Secretary of the Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of China, who will be guest speaker at the 6:30 o'clock dinner meeting of the Anaheim Masonic Lodge tomorrow, Friday, in the Masonic Temple here. R. W. Brownell, Worshipful Master of the local Masons, will preside over the meeting which will be for the men of the lodge only. The Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of China was organized unanimously during the Masonic Convention, January 15 and 16, 1949. The conclave was attended by more than 100 Masons. Those convening at this time were four delegates from each of the six lodges operating in China under the jurisdiction of the Grand Lodge of the Philippines, delegates from the three Massachusetts Lodges working in Shanghai, and observers from the sister constitutions with daughter Lodges in China: to-wit — United Grand Lodge of England, the Grand Lodge of Scotland, the Grand Lodge of Massachusetts, and the Grand Lodge of Ireland. Among officers elected to serve for the ensuing Masonic year, was Alfred S. Lee, Grand Secretary, who will be welcomed cordially by the local Masons. Lane Heads Stock Exchange Speakers Group Carter A. Lane, manager of 4-H Council Meets Nov. 7 The November meeting of the Orange County 4-H Club Council will be held at the Farm Bureau building, 353 South Main street, Orange, Monday evening, November 7 at 7:30 p.m. Final preparations will be made for the annual 4-H achievement program which will be held at the Fremont school in Anaheim Thursday evening, November 10. At the Council meeting leaders will plan with the agricultural extension service in developing their annual program of work. A 4-H demonstration on making a strawberry barrel will be presented by Charles Pyron and Jimmy Erskine of the La Habra Cackle and Root 4-H Club. Don Rosedale, council president, will preside at the meeting. City Receives $5,856 Liquor License Fees Sacramento, (WNS) — Allocations of liquor license fees to cities and counties were recently announced by the state board of equalization. Total allocation for the state amounts to $7,037,951, the report said. The allocation is the first for an eight month period in the history of the board. Orange county will receive $81,-991.90 of the fees, collected from January 1, to August 31, according to the report. Of this sum, $19,311.26 goes to the unincorporated area in the county and the following sums to cities: Anaheim, $5,856.88; Brea, 955.00; Fullerton, 2,979.38; Huntington Beach, 3,343.75; Laguna ans of Foreign Wars, will meet tonight (Thursday) at 8 o'clock in their new club rooms located at 108 North Philadelphia street (Anaheim Union Water Company Building), it was announced today by Ray Mallonee, commander of the local post.
