35,000 Vet Students Register At LA Office
It is estimated that 35,000 veteran students who entered educational institutions in the Los Angeles regional office area of the Veterans Administration during the month of September for the fall term will receive subsistence payments, according to Manager L. C. Chapman of the Los Angeles regional office.
Approximately 3500 of these students received subsistence checks by October 1st, Chapman stated. By November 1st, it is expected that another 18,500 will be paid, and that the balance of the 35,000 will be paid by December 10th.
Subsistence payments are based on evidence of enrollment submitted to the VA and processed by it prior to the cut-off date of the 25th of each month.
Veterans are urged not to communicate with the VA about non-receipt of subsistence checks, as this will only delay the process of getting checks on the way to enrolled students.
SON BORN
A son was born to Mr. and Mrs. Richard Weber of 5373 Camp street, Cypress on Monday, October 3, at Fullerton Cottage hospital, weighing 7 pounds, 7 ounces.
