The funds, voted by the wildlife conservation board, provides for modernization of the fish hatchery system; acquisition and development of game management areas; development of fish screens and ladders; game farms, quail projects, waterfowl management areas, and other vital projects. Acting on the advice of Seth Gordon, consultant for the board, the division will eliminate eleven hatcheries and streamline others to produce nearly three times as many catchable trout as are produced now. The new game management areas are to be open to the public and are designed to keep hunters off farm lands and eliminate damage to crops.
