SOCIETY and CLUB ACTIVITIES (Continued from Page 3) Those named as emblematic star points were Verla Mayfield, Adah; Edna Kruse, Ruth; Clara Harmon, Esther; Lillian Bily, Martha, and Edna Grigsby, Electra. Outgoing matron is Lettie Eberle of Fullerton. Charles Schafer of Anaheim is the outgoing patron. Mona Tannar, past matron and mistress of ceremonies, gave the address of welcome. Jeannette Blattner was installing chaplain and Josephine Alexander, installing organist. The presentation of the Holy Bible was by Wilma Lou and Sharon Lee Nelson. Walter Kohlenberger, past patron, presented the flag. "Sweet Hour of Prayer" was sung by Lulu Nelson and Leard Hinman, sister and brother of Mrs. Marley, incoming worthy matron. Patricia Marley, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Marley, and Roy Timm were candle lighters. The ritual included the escort of past grand matrons and past grand patrons; presentation of grand officers, worthy matrons and worthy patrons of 1948 and presentation of past matrons and past patrons of Ami Tai chapter. A formal dance and reception was held in the banquet hall of the temple following the program. Local Singers in FJC 'Messiah' Participating in the colorful portrayal of the "Messiah" by Handel, staged last night (Wednesday) by Fullerton Junior college in the auditorium on the campus, were 55 singers from Anaheim. Co-hostesses for the affair were aunts of the bride-to-be, Mr Paul Drickrief of Ventura, and Mr Monroe Sharpless of Sherman Oaks. Immediate family relatives a few several very close friends formed the party, including Mrs. George Hellyer, the honoree's mother Mrs. Fred Weisel, mother of the bridegroom-to-be; Mrs. George Hellyer, Jr., San Bernardino, the bride-elect's sister-in-law; Mr Joseph DuPlain of Whittier, sister of the bride-elect, and Mrs. Bella Tedrick, the groom-elect's grandmother. Imported & Domestic CHAMPAGNE We Deliver Red Cross Plans Annual Meeting Plans were formulated for the annual chapter meeting of the Anaheim chapter of the American Red Cross at the monthly board meeting held Wednesday night of last week on the second floor, city hall offices, with Mrs. Leo Friis, chapter chairman, presiding. Details of the annual confab are being handled by a committee comprising Mrs. M. A. Gauer, Mrs. tee members, appointed by Mrs. Friis, are Mrs. Emory Simon, Mrs. L. N. Wisser and Mrs. Floyd Peterson. Mrs. Friis also announced that Harry Horn will be one of the co-chairmen of the fund drive working with L. M. Pickel and Howard Loudon. Eight volunteers gave 205 hours of work during the month, it was reported. Mrs. Peterson, camp and hospital chairman, made a trip to Sawtelle hospital with articles designed for patients' comfort, consisting of magazines and an afghan. The Home Service department reported 34 cases open during the month, five of which were new. Service was given to 14 cases and financial assistance to two veterans. There were 28 office callers and four home calls made. Youngsters to Stage Pageant Tableau by tableau, symbolic beauty of the Nativity, will be enacted by church school children of St. Michael's Episcopal church. December 19. Saturday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock. Both choral and reading roles will be included in the portrayal of the great story of the first Christmas, the Rev. John Kimball Saville, pastor, announced. Musical Arts Club to Sponsor Voice Auditions Voice auditions in the fifth annual contest sponsored by the Musical Arts Club of Orange county, will be held on Sunday afternoon, set as follows: Section 1, to 16, inclusive; Section 2, to 20 inclusive, and Section ages 21 to 23 inclusive. The contest is limited to under 21 years of age. Two are required; one in a foreign language and one in English. In each division will receive awards. Application blanks may be cured and further information tained from Owens, 602 Broadway, Santa Ana, Kimberly 2-3795. Exact time place of the auditions will be announced later.
