"The Hasty Heart" is the tale of a Scotsman whose few weeks spent among total strangers in the convalescent ward of a hospital teach him the meaning of friendship and brotherhood. Supporting cast members for the humorous yet profound drama will include Morris Buchanan, young stage actor of Los Angeles; Bobker Ben Ali, comedian with the Pasadena Playhouse; Miss Doni Hurd of Pasadena Playhouse, and William Pullen, James Connell, Glen Wells and Don Antaky, all of Holiday Stage's resident company. Co-producers of the company are Norman Mennes and Harold Turney. Melvin Gledhill, New Mexico Girl Wed Here In informal rites, Melvin Columbo Gledhill, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Gledhill, Sr., 411 North Emily street, and Betty Sue Ramsey, 420 Parker road, Las Cruces, New Mexico, were wed in the Anaheim Ebell clubhouse Saturday night at 8 o'clock with Rev. H. G. Schmelzer, former pastor of the Zion Lutheran church of this city, officiating. The couple repeated their marriage vows before a specially designed altar arranged with asters, heather and gladioli against a background of lighted pastel pink tapers and potted palms. The bride wore a grey chiffon dress fashioned with a shirtmaker top, long full sleeves with tight cuffs and full double skirt. Color contrast was found in her soft orchid-toned horsehair hat trimmed with violet streamers and her soft purple and grey sandals. Given in marriage by J. Roderick Brastad, a close friend of the bridegroom's family, the bride carried a bouquet of orchids rounded by delphinium. Maid of honor was Mrs. K. Lippincott of San Francisco. chose a dress of powder frosted organdy designed with bouffant skirt and fitted boofthe neckline. Blue delphinium and pink rose buds were dined in her bouquet. Serving as best man was Gledhill, Jr. Ushers were Pat Kavanaugh and Thomas Cleary. A cousin of the bridegroom, lie Mae Zavallas, accordia played pre-nuptial selections interpreted the traditional wedding music. Immediately following the ceremony, the reception was held at the North Emily street home of the Gledhill family. Mrs. C. Hill, the bridegroom's mother chose a chic black dress accessorized with gold clips and earrings in a gardenia corsage for the occasion. The bride's parents were able to attend the ceremony. Following a honeymoon at a beach resort, the couple will return to Las Cruces where they will live. The new Mrs. Gledhill attended New Mexico State college. In December of last year she returned from Korea where she had spent 14 months as a civilian reception director in the employe of the War department. Her bridegroom, an alumni of Anaheim Union high school, now is a chief petty officer in the United States Navy. Currently he is stationed at White Sands Proving Grounds, New Mexico. After enlisting in the Navy in June 1942, he was stationed at Los Alamitos for two years. He saw overseas action, mainly in the Philippines, for three years. Frances Plou Leaving Soon For Switzerland Planning to attend college in Switzerland is Miss Frances Mary Plou, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Plou, West Lincoln road, Anaheim. She will leave here August 29 for New York and embark for Europe on September 13. The Anaheim girl will spend her Junior year of college at De Fuguere, Dominican order, Catholic convent, in Fribourg, Switzerland, located near the French border. She will continue her studies as a major in languages. PLAN TO WED A marriage license was obtained by Hal Jerome Corcoran and Barbara Ruth Estep, both of Garden Grove, early this week at the country court house in Santa Ana.
