West Alpha Bets Celebrates 38th Year LEO FRIIS FAMILY HOME FROM VACATION Leo Friis, well known lawyer, and his wife and son, James, 600 North Clementine street, Anaheim, returned here this weekend after enjoying a two and one-half week trip via the Redwood Highway, to North Crater Lake, Oregon, Lake Tahoe and Nevada where they visited Carson City, Reno and the ghost town, Virginia City. Of special interest, according to Mrs. Friis, was the centennial celebrabration of the discovery of gold in the Mother Lode country. PHONE 420 8th Year Slate Two First Aid Courses Two standard 20-hour First Aid classes are being offered to persons of this vicinity. They are taught by authorized Red Cross First Aid instructors in cooperation with the local chapter of the American Red Cross. One course will begin tonight (Thursday) at 7 o'clock in the fire department headquarters, city hall building, under direction of Fireman Hubert Ladig. The two hour session will be conducted for each succeeding Thursday. Another 10-week course will be taught each Tuesday night from 7 to 9 o'clock beginning next Tuesday by Mrs. Josephine Fulfer at her home, 560 South Clemen-tine street. At the conclusion of the instruction session, the Standard First Aid certificate will be awarded to all students who pass the final examination. NEW DAUGHTER A baby daughter pounds arrived for M.
