BROADWAY TROOPS 4, 19
Broadway Brownie Troop 19
The Brownies entered on the stage singing their "Brownie Smile Song," and each girl who was eligible for scouting was presented their fly-up wings and, moving across the stage with a flying motion, was received by the traditional girls scout circle which was formed by the Girl Scouts and their two leaders.
Those receiving their fly-up wings were Barbara Brown, Nancy Homan, Angie Holman,
Kathryn Hoban, Arlowyne Macbrayer, Bonne and Bette Van Dendon, Barbara Simonton, Shirley Pannier, Marlene Morford, Mary Ann Carter, Glenda Mungerson, Gretchen and Gerie Glover, Adelina Reveles, Mary Louise Caskey beer, Eleanor Ferks, Shirley Schmitz, Ann Fabian, and Peg Kohlenberger. Due to illness in the home, Kay Switzler and Ann Allen will receive their badges next week.
FRANKLIN TROOP 16
Girl Scout Troop 16 of Benjamin Franklin school held a County of Awards. Approximately forty people attended the pot luck dinner Friday evening at the Girl Scout House at which time Benjamin Franklin Troop 16 Girls Scouts, under the leadership of Mrs. Wm. Dierberger and Mrs. Thelma Leigh, held their annual Court of Awards and reviewed the activities of the past year.
After the delicious dinner, Sharon Etchison presented the color after which the group sang "America the Beautiful" led by Ramona Roddam. Dorothy Addy and Betty Dierberger led the troop in the Girl Scout promise and laws.
During the year the girls took part in many activities. Mary Cole was the Juliette Low representative and modeled at the Spring Fashion Show. Mary Louise Cass beer was the scribe and reported all the troop news during the year. Betty Dierberger and Corinna Leigh took high honors during the Girl Scout cookie sale with Betty sales totaling 145 boxes and Corinna's 70 boxes. Betty was awarded a $2.00 campership and Corinna's $1.00 campership. At Christmas time the girls sold Christmas cards and stationery. Betty Dierberger came through again with top sales numbering 34 boxes. Sharon Etchison sold 24 and Mae Cone 21 for which they also were awarded partial campership.
Among the interesting trips the troop made were the San Diego Zoo, the Freedom Train and overnight at the Santa Ana Durham.

BROADWAY TROOPS 4, 19
Broadway Brownie Troop 19 and Girl Scout Troop 4 held a family pot-luck Tuesday May 25, at White Temple Methodist church with approximately 100 attending.
The meeting was called to order by Mrs. R. R. Moor followed by the flag salute and prayer. Miss Dorothy Bowe, speaker of the evening, read a story. Thanks was given to Mrs. Blanche Daniels, principal of Broadway School, by both troops for her fine cooperation throughout the year. The Brownie Diary was read by Mrs. Moor which consisted of everything the Brownies had accomplished during the year.

The girls receiving foods and nutrition, worlds gifts, dramatic appreciation, housekeeper, outdoor cook, needlecraft, bookfinders and bibliophile badges were Carolyn Fiscuss, Mariam Congdon, Priscilla Lopez, Rachel Compise, Rella Cherry, Mary Maldonado. Isabell Ursua received the bibliophile housekeeper, worlds gifts, dramatic appreciation and the needlecraft badges; Norma Caffy received second class, foods and nutrition, outdoor cook and the housekeeper badges; Nancy Jo Ellis received the foods and nutrition badge; Georgia Hile second class, hostess, outdoor dramatic appreciation badges; Joida Taylor second class, hostess and outdoor cook badges; Marilyn Richards, outdoor cook, dramatic appreciation, bookfinder and bibliophile badges; Ilene Burns second class, hostess; bookfinder, bibliophile and dramatic appreciation badges.
Mrs. Niles gave her thanks to her assistant leader, Mrs. Norbert De Cook for her cooperation and presented her with a gift. Mrs. De Cook will be the leader of the troop next year, replacing Mrs. Fiscus who has given 15 years to girl scouting in Anaheim.
Hostess for the evening were Brownie Leaders Mrs. R. R. Moor, Mrs. Leo Homan, Mrs. Ivan Story, Mrs. Charles Allen, Girl Scout leaders Mrs. Niles Fiscuss and Mrs. Norbert De Cook.
SCOUT SCRIBES MEET
Nineteen Girl Scout scribes under the leadership of Mrs. Forrest Simonton, completed the requirements and received the scribes badge this week. This field includes a study in journalism, news reporting and community life. Those receiving the award were sales totaling 145 boxes and Coina's 70 boxes. Betty was awarded a $2.00 campership and Corinna $1.00 campership. At Christmas time the girls sold Christmas cards and stationery. Betty Diedberger came through again with top sales numbering 34 boxes. Sharon Etchison sold 24 and Mae Cone 21 for which they also were awarded partial campership. Miss Dorothy Bowe presented the badges. Sewing, cooking housekeeping, foods and nutritions were presented to all girls in the troop. Most of the girls also received games, bookbinders and bibliophile badges. Dorothy Addis and Betty Dierberger received one dog care badges. Nancy Baththemes and Mary Louise Cass beer received music badges. Mae Louise also received scribes badge Eleanor Ferks received scribes and first class awards. Marylily Hempshall received the sewing badge which she earned at home Due to illness for several months she has not been able to attend the meetings. Mr. Chester Fowler, grade teacher, was a special guest.
WASHINGTON BROWNIES
Brownie Troop 27 of George Washington school were entered with a program given by Troop 18, fifth grade, and Troop 28, sixth grade, Girl Scouts. All proximately sixty people were present. The George Washington teachers and Val Moore, Hawaii dancing instructor, were special guests. The program included piano solos by Peggy Kohlenberg and Pamela Anderson, accordion solos by Nancy Plaisted and Carol Schnoor. Dolores Pool and Marlene Hansard gave two Hawaiian dance numbers. A play "Dreamland" was presented by the sixth grade girls. Sylvia Klipp ver played a clarinet solo. Mrs. A. N. Miller, leader, assisted by Mr Forrest Price and Mrs. John Bovee, served cupcakes and punches Next week the Brownies are planning to visit Knott's Berry Farm Ghost Town.

Scout Troop 16 of Benja-franklin school held a Court Awards. Mrs. Andrea Carillo has moved to Colton. Adelina Reveles led the pledge to the flag and the singing of America at La Palma School Field Day program last week.
BROWNIE TROOP 3
Brownie' Troop 3 of George Washington school, second grade Brownies, had a picnic at the La Palma Park. They were entertained by their sponsor, the American Legion Auxiliary. Games were played with prizes going to Pricilla Judd and Pauline Clivas. Refreshments of ice cream, punch, potato chips and cookies were served by Mrs. R. J. O'Cane, Mrs. F. Peterson, and Mrs. M. G. Johnson. Clever clown favors with suckers were also given to the Brownies. The troop is under the leadership of Mrs. Ray Ortez with Mrs. A. H. Schnoor assisting.
BONIFACE SCOUTS
Girl Scout Troop 9 from St. Boniface school held open house at their regular meeting place. The buffet table was beautifully decorated with spring colors. "Johnny jump ups" and white tapers formed the centerpiece: The small corner tables were gracious with Easter lillies. A display table exhibited candles made at Christmas time, marashmallow bunnies made at Easter, miniature candy boxes for Valentine's Day and gay May baskets for May Day. Miss Dorothy Bowe presented all the girls in the troop with hostess badges and second class badges. Kathleen Dugan, Cosette Peltzer and Sharon McKool received readers badge. Kathleen Dugan received musicians and swimmer badge and Kathryn Hoban was awarded the scribes badge. Refreshments of open faced sandwiches, punch and cookies were served. The following guests were present: Mrs. R. Hoban, Mrs. Flynn, Mrs. J. Allec, Mrs. J. Ricker, Mrs. Salgado, Mrs. E. Williams, Mrs. Don May, Mrs. William Bushman, Mrs. G., McKool, Mrs. Franklin, Mrs. E. Dugan, Mrs.
meeting at the home of Mrs. Maurice Shirk. At the Brownie fly up ceremony Janice Gwaltney, Sharon Comstock and Joan Shirk received their Brownie wings. Refreshments of cookies and punch were served, after which three comic movies were enjoyed. Mrs. J. R. McIntyre assisted in the absence of Mrs. Laurence Allen who has been ill. At the close of the meeting the girls all rode home in a big truck which added much to the frolic of the day.
SCOUT TROOP 8
Girl Scout Troop 8 from St. Boniface school held their regular business meeting May 27 in the Parish hall. Carolyn Miller described the national Catholic breakfast which had been held the Sunday before at Los Angeles to which she had attended in the name of St. Boniface. Each representative presented a rose for the crown of the blessed virgin. Girls also told their plans for the summer, some going to camp and others taking trips east. The rest of the day was spent playing games. Thursday, June 3, they visited the Anaheim fire station.
Mrs. Sands Cops Big Halibut
Doubters might say, "Aw, just another fish story," but it can be done. Yep, from right off the end of the Newport Beach pier, the second largest halibut of the season was caught — and by a lady too!
