Keen Rivalry,
Many Crack-Ups
At Air Circus
Competition was so keen between the 187 model airplane builders and flyers who partici-pated Sunday in the first Annual Junior Chamber of Commerce flying circus at La Palma park that,
according to veteran enthusiasts,
there were more plane crack-ups than they had ever seen before at a meet.
The numerous flights, which began early in the morning and lasted all day, were held before an audience which was estimated to average 500, with spectators coming and going during the day.

In Argument In Overell Trial
Up to October 1 the Overell trial had cost the county $17,403.-50. This total does not include cost of investigation and the ex-per witness fees which are being paid by the state, since it has taken over the prosecution of the case.
The biggest item in the $17,403.50 bill is $7272.69 for court reporters who have prepared a daily transcript of the trial. Next largest item is $5649.90 for jurors, includ-ing the fees and mileage of jurors who were called but were not chosen. Guards have received $3208.56, extra court clerk, $685.41, witnesses (not including the ex-perts) $356.78, public address system, $200 and office supplies, $30.17.
Arguments in the Overell murder case began late last week and prospects were this midweek they would continue until tomorrow.

Report from Pocomoke City
The Exchange has 40 Dealer Service men. Each man has his territory and they don't see each other often. John Ward's one of them, working out of Baltimore.
Today your reporter was going over a report of their doings the head office gets out so they'll have news of each other. There was this item from John Ward:
"Ran into a situation in Pocomoke City where the jobber was snowed under with 288s and said he couldn't move them. Got a list of retailers in town and went to work. When I left Thursday the jobber had an inventory of exactly 1½ boxes of 288s and had ordered more."
No special reason for picking out Ward's job. Might as well have told you about the deal Bill Tyson worked out with jobber Nash-Finch in Crawford,Nebr.,or Pat O'Brien's special display idea he put on in St.John.New Brunswick,或the city-wide small-size orange sale Charlie Garrison organized in Richmond,Va.
Point is this. The Exchange realizes the fruit isn't sold when the jobber buys it. It isn't sold until the retailer sells it.
So the Exchange has these 40 trouble shooters—bottleneck openers—working with wholesalers and retailers constantly, everywhere.
No grower could provide that service for himself. No small group of growers can do it.It's a service that's unique with the Exchange. It's one reason, and an important one why Exchange growers get a bigger return for their fruit.
Next report two weeks from today.

"IT'S TOPS FOR ROOF TOPPING"
Want smart-looking roofs with long-lasting protection against all kinds of weather? Prepared-paper and metal roofs really slick up when you paint them with Standard Asbestos Roof Coating. Its fire-resisting quality is in its large percentage of long asbestos fibers and mica; and these allow stretching and bending without cracking. It's tops, too, for coating inside of fruit-sulphuring sheds.
