Wisser, 126 North Helena street, is serving aboard the "jeep" carrier, USS Fanshaw Bay. The carrier operated for 63 continuous days at Okinawa where her fliers put in approximately 6600 hours of combat flying against Jap targets. Last fall the Fanshaw saw action at Leyte gulf when crew members struggled against an onslaught of the Japanese fleet in one of the most severe surface engagements of the war. The ship suffered withering Jap fire and in run after run on the enemy fleet units her planes amassed a grand total of 5200 carrier landings. Shortly afterward the Fanshaw returned to the states to undergo repairs and Allan had a brief leave home at that time. His older brother, Mo. MM 1/c Edward Wisser, is also serving in the navy and has seen action in Kiska and at Tawara. Both boys are graduates of the Anaheim union high school. Lt.
