YOU PAY FOR VITAMINS -don't let improper cooking destroy them
COOK THE VITAMIN-SAVING WAY—WITH A CP GAS RANGE
TO HELP “DO YOUR BIT” toward building your family’s health, serve well balanced, vitamin-rich meals. And, of course, it isn’t enough just to select the right foods at the market. For many of the health-giving vitamins may be lost later, through improper cooking.
LET A CERTIFIED PERFORMANCE GAS RANGE help you avoid vitamin waste. Better broiling is among the advantages a CP gas range brings you. Beef, lamb, fish or chicken will turn out finer.
WHAT EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW ABOUT VITAMIN-SAVING
1 Use little water in cooking.
2 Cook vegetables for the shortest possible time.
3 Cover utensils to keep air out.
4 Avoid unnecessary stirring of vegetables.
5 Don't put in baking soda to brighten food colors.
6 Start vegetables in boiling water.
7 Don't throw away vegetable liquids—use them in soups or cream sauces.
8 Keep foods as fresh as possible—use dependable automatic refrigeration.
9 Serve plenty of green vegetables.
10 Serve foods soon after cooking.
11 Broiling is preferable to frying to retain vitamins.
12 Low-temperature roasting saves vitamins, minerals.
THREE OF THE WAYS A CP GAS RANGE WILL HELP YOU SAVE VITAMINS
1 VITAMIN-SAVING BURNERS. Simmer settings make possible "waterless" cooking of vegetables, recommended by vitamin authorities.
2 VITAMIN-SAVING BROILER. No preheating necessary. Meats retain more vitamin-rich juices, because cold-start broiling enables you to broil the portion nearest the flame, without overcooking the under side.
3 VITAMIN-SAVING OVEN. CP controlled heat enables you to roast meats with minimum of water, and yet avoid drying-out. Low temperature CP roasting also enables you to reduce meat shrinkage as much as 20%.
EVERY CP GAS RANGE is styled to the minute—a kitchen marvel you'll always be proud to show. You'll have more leisure, too, with a CP gas range. Giant-sized burner is super speedy. Automatic oven control eliminates personal supervision. Lighting is automatic throughout. Range keeps cleaner, thanks to fewer boilovers, smoke-less broiling and easily wiped porcelain finish. And it costs, on the average, only ½ as much to cook with gas as with the next-best method.
