Damages Sought For Auto Crash
Damages in the sum of $15,-741.42 are being sought in a suit filed by Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Sandilands and Alice V. Scott of Anaheim, against Carl M. Stein of Santa Ana. The suit is based on a traffic crash which occurred last September 30 in Santa Ana at Fifth street and Broadway.
Sandilands, manager of Anaheim Valencia Orange Association, seeks $3,000 for his injuries; his wife asks $10,000 as an award for back injuries alleged to have been sustained in the crash. Mrs. Scott asks for a judgement in the sum of $2,500. All three were walking across Broadway in a safety zone, they claim, when they were struck by a car driven by Stein, so they allege. No date has been set for a hearing.

Dons Win Opener; La Verne Downed
Santa Ana Dons opened their 1941 edition of the football season last Friday night at the county seat municipal bowl by defeating La Verne college 20-0 before a crowd of 4,000 grid fans.
Contrary to expectations the Dons did not have a Roman Holiday in disposing of their opponents, who stubbornly fought for every foot of ground they had to concede.
Coming onto the field with but 18 men, La Verne looked woefully weak for reserves but made up in determination what they lacked in substitutes, a good part of the team playing through the entire game. Three of the visitors were out of the game before the first half was over, making their showing all the more remarkable.
Dons scored a touchdown and conversion in the first minute of play, and it looked like a runaway game. For the next 59 minutes they had their hands full in registering two more touchdowns.

Christian Science Churches
"Reality" is the subject of the Lesson-Sermon on Sunday in all Churches of Christ, Scientist. The Golden Text is from Isaiah: "Behold, I create new heavens and a new earth; and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind."
Scriptural selections include these verses from I Chronicles: "Sing unto the LORD, all the earth; shew forth from day to day his salvation . . . Glory and honour are in his presence; strength and gladness are in his place . . Thine, O LORD, is the greatness, and the victory, and the majesty; for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O LORD, and thou art exalted as head above all. Both riches and honour come of thee, and thou reignest over all; and in thine hand is power and might; and in thine hand it is to make great, and to give strength unto all. Now therefore, our God, we thank thee, and praise thy glorious nome."
The Lesson-Sermon includes these statements from "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy: "Spirit imparts the understanding which uplifts consciousness and leads unto all truth . . . Spiritual sense is the discernment of spiritual good." "The spiritual reality is the scientific fact in all things. The spiritual fact, repeated in the action of man and the whole universe, is harmonious and is the ideal of Truth."
