Center St., it was disclosed this week by Frank Belmont, owner and operator of the Granada packing house. The plant, with is increased capacity and superior equipment, will be ready for operation soon and will be capable of packing 1000 cars of citrus during the season, Belmont said. Associated with Belmont in the operation of the plant are Albert Heinze, Earl Miller and Miss Trixie O'Bar. Heinze, formerly with the Anaheim Cooperation Orange association, will assist in the operations, while Miller will assist in the field work. He was formerly with the California Fruit Distributors and is well known here. Miss O'Bar will be in charge of the office. The Granada packing house has its own outlets through chain stores, which results in more profits to growers because of elimination of the middle man. The firm operated in Anaheim last year, after moving here from Alhambra. The firm's high average last season is attributed to direct distribution and is the cause of the increase in acreage for the coming season. Block, Santa Ana school physician, and tuberculosis consultant at the Orange county hospital tuberculosis pavilion, will speak on April 22, the same hour, the subject of her broadcast being, "Stopping Tuberculosis at its Source." Orange county residents are urged to turn their dial to KVOE these three weekly morning broadcasts at 11:30 the second, third and fourth Tuesdays of April. The slogan of this year's spring educational campaign — "A Good X-ray Is your Doctor's Best Aid in discovering Early Tuberculosis" — points individuals to the easy, sure, quick way of discharging their personal obligation during the campaign.
