Spring Style Show of Assistance Large Crowd Attends Event at Elks Clubhouse The Spring Style Show presented by the Anaheim chapter of the Orange County Assistance League featuring the styles of the Mary Millerick shop, Anaheim, held Saturday afternoon at the Elks club house was one of the outstanding social events of the season. The guests were received by Mrs. J Ben Kaulbars, Mrs. A. A. Newland, Mrs. Sid McGraw and Mrs. Lotus H. Loudon in the lobby, where a welcoming fire was burning on the spacious hearth. The lobby was also decorated with beautiful baskets of flowers and in one corner was a display of novelty chapeaus and jewelry. After entering, the guests were ushered to the upstairs lodge room by the daughters of the league members. The upstairs room was decorated with bamboo limbs placed around the room and the stage was edged with calla lilies and dutch iris. Mrs. Charles Pearson and Mrs. John Wilson were co-chairmen of the decorating committee and the other committee members were Mrs. McGraw, Mrs. Loudon, Mrs. H. E. W. Barnes, Mrs. William Schumacher, Mrs. Ted Kuchel, Mrs. Jefferson Rust, Mrs. Kaulbars, Mrs. George Holden, Mrs. J. E. Wallace, Mrs. William Webb, and Mrs. Newland. Before the program started the guests were serenaded by the Spanish Troubadors who played BRIDE-ELECT FETED AT SHOWER Miss Eleanor Marsh was honored at a shower given by Mrs. Robert Marsh and Mrs. E. Smith of Inglewood at the home of Mrs. Ethel Marsh, 300 N. Janss, last evening. A table was decorted and the gifts were placed an it. Over the table and gifts was suspended a wedding bell. The cake served later, was also decorated with a wedding bell. The evening was spent playing hearts with Mrs. Smith taking first prize and Mrs. W. Nankervis, second. Those present from Anaheim Mrs. Robert Royalty, Mrs. Clarence Woodbury, Mrs. Joe Siewerd, Miss Iona McMurtry, Miss Bessie Renner, and Miss Meta Kram. Out of town guests were Mrs. Robert Marsh of El Monte, Mrs. Smith, Mrs. Otto Townsend and Mrs. David Johnson, both of Compton, Mrs. Richard Ellis, Mrs. Robert Baldwin of Los Angeles, and Mrs. Walter Nankervis of Garden Grove. Miss Eleanor Marsh Reveals Betrothal Announcement of the betrothal of Miss Eleanor Marsh to Jack Royalty was made Sunday evening by the bride-elect during a party at the home of Miss J. Elizabeth Calnon, 422 S. Illinois St. The wedding will take place at 4 p.m. on Friday, April 18, at the home of the bride-elect's parents, Lorraine Ebell Of Tustin Bride Of Gordon Titus Calla lilies, baby breath, fern and the aisle and altar of the Tustin Presbyterian church lighted with candles was the charming scene for 7:30 p.m. wedding Friday of Miss Lorraine Ebell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry L. Ebell, Tustin, and Gordon Titus, son of E. E. Titus of San Diego, who has been residing with Mr. and Mrs. Henry Ramm of West Broadway. Rev. Calvin Duncan of the Tustin Presbyterian church officiated at the single ring ceremony. The wedding party was preceded by the bride's sister, Rose Ebell, and her friend, Marilyn Humeston who lit the candles which were placed at each pew down the center aisle, and at the altar. Miss Helen Harper sang "Lord's Prayer," and "At Dawning," and Mrs Rosemary Ramm Smith sang "Ah Sweet Mystery of Life." The bride wore a white slipper satin gown with a finger tip length veil and carried a shower bouquet of bride's roses. She was attended by her sister, Miss Gwinn Ebell who was her maid of honor and by her sisters, Iola, Etta and Wanda, who were her bridesmaids. All of these young women wore moire taffeta gowns in pastel colors and carried bouquets of sweet peas and baby breath. The groom was attended by Alvert F. Spottswood, Miss Margaret Bradley, Miss Ruth Wirts and Miss Florence N. Swerdfeger. Young Bill Grafton Has Birthday Party Bill Henry Grafton, was honored on his third birthday with a party given at the home of his grandmother, Mrs. Henry Adams, 515 N. Clementine St. The guests arrived at ten o'clock and were served luncheon at noon along with a cake decorated with three pink candles. Those present were Mrs. William Grafton, Mrs. Henry Adams, Mrs. Howard Hineman of Balboa and daughter Peggy Ann, Mrs. Donald Campbell of Manhattan Beach and daughter, Ann, Mrs. Ewald Lemcke and daughter, Sandra, Mrs. Kenneth Walker and daughter, Katherine, Mrs. A. C. Elliot and son, Dick, and the honored guest. Mrs. E. H. Adams Luncheon Hostess Mrs. E. H. Adams was chairman at the noon luncheon of the Fidelis class of the White Temple Methodist church Friday. Those on her committees were Mrs. Nettie Eygabroad, Mrs. Ruth Brown, Mrs. M. Hauswald, Mrs. E. Van Atta, and Mrs. Laura Gregg. The luncheon was attended by approximately 35 people. It was followed by a business meeting in the Women's parlor. Daughter is Born To the James Spires Mr. and Mrs. James Spire, 515 N. Los Angeles St., are the parents of an eight-pound baby daughter, born Monday, March 31 at the Santa Ana Valley hospital. The little gril was named Katharine. She has two older brothers. Organized games were played and refreshments served. Mrs. Barnes Visits Here Mrs. Kirby Barnes, formerly of Anaheim and now residing in Downey, visited friends here over the week end. Motor to Escondido Mr. and Mrs. Fred Edwards of Katella St., went to Escondido on business one day this week. Millard Carlisle Visits Family Millard Carlisle of San Bernardo valley visited his family at 307 E. Wilhelmina St. over the week end. William Price in Hospital William Price of South Olive St. underwent a major operation, Monday, at the Fullerton general hospital. He fell a week ago in the family home and broke his hip. Mrs. Davidson Ill Mrs. Paul Davidson is in St. Joseph hospital with pneumonia. Mrs. Poirier Recovering Mrs. George Poirier of South Melrose St., is slowly recovering from a severe illness. Spend Day in San Diego Betty Spaenhower And Harley Hoskin Married at Yuma Marriage vows were said Friday evening at nine o'clock. Miss Betty Spaenhower, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T. J. Spaenhower of 413 S. Illinois St., and Mrs. L. H. Hoskins of 1050 Angeles St., in Yuma, Ariz. Rev. Raymond C. Arches Yuma Presbyterian church elated at the double ring ceremony. The ceremony took place in the church manse. Miss Spaenhower was a bemburg sheer print noon dress and wore two on in a corsage at her shoulder. The ceremony the young left on a trip into Mexico and San Diego before returning. Both the bride and groom tended Anaheim union school and Fullerton junior college, where their cousins started. Mrs. Lindell Recuperating Mrs. Arthur Lindell, 555 S. Indiana St., is recuperating from an attack of the flu. On Business Trip Mrs. Alice Wagner and Mrs. Allen Crain motored to San Bernardino, Monday, on business. William Jobman Home William Jobman of Redlands spent the week-end with his family on East Broadway. Mrs. Rains Breaks Arm Mrs. Johanna Rains, mother of Mrs. Vona Allen, 413 E. Broadway, fell from a chair Friday and broke her right arm. Mrs. Rains resides with her daughter. Mrs. Carlin Visits Son Mrs. H. G. Carlin left for Honolulu this week to visit her son, Harold Carlin, Jr., who is a member of the post marine band at Pearl Harbor. She was bid bon voyage by many friends who saw her off at the boat. A constructive demonstration will be held by Miss Liles. Youngs in New Home Mr. and Mrs. W. M. Young, 507 N. Philadelphia St., noved Saturday to their new home, 1307 Damon Ave., Anaheim, which they recently purchased. To Visit Sister Miss Winona Benson, home economics teacher of the Anaheim union high school, plans to leave Monday to spend a week at Berkeley with her sister, Esther Benson. She will be accompanied by her sister-in-law, Mrs. Lee Benson of Glendale. Attend: Picnic Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Bennett and son, Bob, attended the Eddyville, Iowa, picnic at Griffith Park, Sunday. In Telephone Office Murel Harmon, a cousin of Mrs. E. H. Adams of 416 S. Olive St., is with the telephone company for a short time. Celebrates Birthday Dennis Adams, grandson of Mrs. Maurice Adams of 817 N. Janas St., was honored with a birthday party last week.
