Doctor Defendant In Damage Action Widower and Son of Virginia Lamb Seek $25,000 In Suit Death of Mrs. Virginia Lamb, 22, several months ago at the Carter Neurological clinic at Garden Grove came to the fore again last week when the widower, Alvin Earl Lamb, and their two-year-old son, Edward, became plaintiffs in a $25,000 damage suit against Dr. Richard A. Carter, head of the clinic. Dr. Carter is already facing criminal prosecution in the death of Mrs. Lamb. Named with Dr. Carter as defendants were his associate, Roy E. Green, and two nurses at the clinic, Elizabeth Monroe and Nona Rhode. The complaint, which was filed by Attorneys Friis and Schutz, set forth that Lamb brought his wife to Dr. Carter at the Garden Grove clinic last September 15 and that she died there on the following day. Dr. Carter was charged with making unskillful and negligent diagnosis of the case as dementia praecox, and then applying excessive doses of insulin in treatment, instead of light doses. Thereafter, states the complaint, he absented himself for several hours when his immediate attention to the patient was required. The defendants twice permitted Mrs. Lamb to escape from the clinic and permitted the women nurses to use "harsh and severe treatment" in returning her to the clinic, this treatment allegedly contributing to the condition that caused her death, it was alleged. Criminal prosecution of Dr. Carter on a charge of manslaughter. FLOWER SHOW TO BE FEATURE OF THIRD ANNUAL COUNTY FAIR Hundreds of garden-minded women throughout Orange county, as well as nurseries and garden clubs, have already turned their attention to the forthcoming horticultural show which will be one of the main features of the third annual Fair and Horse Show to be held in Santa Ana on June 7, 8 and 9. From the scores of inquiries and enthusiasm already shown, the committees in charge are urging all prospective exhibitors to condition gardens, plant, and fertilize now. Substantial cash awards will again be allocated by the state to various classification groups, clubs, amateurs and professionals. Only entries from Orange county will be eligible for prizes, and professionals and amateurs will not compete against each other. According to Dale Griggs, Santa Ana park superintendent, who took an active part in promoting the show last year, garden plans should be made at once to ensure prolific bloom. Griggs suggests that roses should have special care from now on; that ferns and geraniums, which were started about February, are now ready to be repotted. Fuchsias should be fertilized for profuse bloom in time. Mel Reeves Heads Anaheim Golfers Activities of the Anaheim Golf association will be directed during the coming year by Mel Reeves, following his election as president at the association's dinner meeting Thursday night at New Radio Dial Locations Told Better reception of programs and elimination of interference from stations broadcasting outside of the United States are expected to result from the relocation of stations on the radio dial, which becomes effective at 3 a.m. Saturday, March 29. The change will necessitate equipment adjustments on radios using push-button dial systems. If the change has not been made Saturday morning, manual tuning can be used. New dial locations, according to Paul Davidson of the Superior Radio Service, are as follow: - KMTR: 570 - KFI: 640 - KMPC: 710 - KECA: 790 - KHJ: 930 - KFWB: 980 - KNX: 1070 - KGFJ: 1230 - KFAC: 1330 - KFOX: 1360 - KGER: 1390 - KVOE: 1490 Improved Telephone Facilities Planned Southern California Telephone company will spend about $995,400 to construct new long distance facilities between Santa Ana and Del Mar, it was announced this week by R.
