Small Group of Close Friends
Informal Games Played During Party Tuesday
The year 1941 was ushered in Tuesday evening by guests enjoying a party held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Evans, 828 North Lemon street.
An open fireplace sent a warm welcome around the cleverly appointed room. A Christmas tree centered the holiday decorations. An enjoyable evening of informal games was held, and everyone participated in the corn-popping and general entertainment.
Delicious refreshments were served by the hostess after the guests had greeted the New Year.
Enjoying the charming affair were Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Koehler, Mr. and Mrs. Dwight Thing, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Thill and Wallace Young.
Rosemary Kraemer To Wed Legislator
Friends of Miss Rosemary Kraemer are looking forward to her coming marriage to Assemblyman Frank J. Waters of Los Angeles sometime in the new year.
Miss Kraemer is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Peter Kraemer of Placentia, and Mr. Waters is the son of the late Frank J. Waters and Mrs. Waters of Los Angeles.
Miss Kraemer is a native of southern California, and a member of two of the oldest pioneer families of this district. Her grandfather was the late Sam Kraemer, son of Mr. and Mrs.

CHILDREN ENJOY BARN DANCE
Christmas cheer reigned supreme last Thursday when Mrs. Edward J. Power and Mrs. V. W. Borden gave a barn dance at the former's spacious barn at their ranch home on Ball road. Ballroom students of the Richards-Martin dancing school were guests and were under the supervision of Miss Morton, their instructor.
Palms, bright-colored lanterns and a Christmas tree completed the holiday appointments. Punch was served in the first part of the evening, and hot chocolate and Junior Ebell Club Christmas Dance Enjoyable Affair
The gay spirit of the Christmas season was personified Saturday night by the Junior Ebell dance held in the Ebell clubhouse, one of the most charming holiday affairs of the season.
The ball was beautifully decorated with gold stars on a red background, with branches of holly were about the stage and cleverly placed lights on the wall. Various colored cellophane icicles sent rays of diffused light about the room. In the lounge a prettily decorated tree centered the appointments.
In the receiving line were Mrs. A. P. M. Brown, sponsor of the Junior Ebell, gowned in black taffeta; Miss Laura Gene Frantz, president, in sequin-trimmed black net; Mrs. Virgil Harman, vice-president, in black and red polka-dotted taffeta, set off by a scarlet bolero and Mrs. Chester Ralston, treasurer, in a lovely pink taffeta.
Miss Laura Gene Frantz introduced Mrs. Virgil Harman, general chairman of the affair, who in turn presented Ramon and Elicia, Spanish dancers from Pasadena. They gave a demonstration of the ballroom rumba and La Conga. Punch was served throughout the evening.
Several different types of dancing were enjoyed, including "Paul Jones," "Ladies' and Men's Choice," the rumba and La Conga.
Mrs. Merle West had charge of the attractive decorations and her
man Frank J. Waters of Los Angeles sometime in the new year.
Miss Kraemer is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Peter Kraemer of Placentia, and Mr. Waters is the son of the late Frank J. Waters and Mrs. Waters of Los Angeles.
Miss Kraemer is a native of southern California, and a member of two of the oldest pioneer families of this district. Her grandfather was the late Sam Kraemer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Kraemer, first family of the community now known as Placentia. Her paternal grandmother was Angelina Yorba, daughter of Prudencio and Dolores (Ontiveras) Yorba, Castilian Spaniards and native son and daughter of early California. Her mother is the daughter of the late John H. Wents, a pioneer merchant of Iowa and her mother spent a number of years after his death in Anaheim, where she was widely known and loved.
Assemblyman Waters is the son of a prominent Los Angeles attorney, and is a member of the California Assembly from the 58th district which his father represented in past years.
The bride-to-be attended Placentia schools and Fullerton high school. She is a graduate of Scripps College for Women at Claremont and the University of Southern California, where she was active in many school organizations. She is a member of Gamma Phi Beta sorority and is an accomplished pianist. Assemblyman Waters graduated from Loyola university and the School of Law of the University of California at Berkeley.
42nd Wedding Anniversary Marked
Mr. and Mrs. Keith Ruch were hosts Saturday to a group of friends and relatives meeting at the family home, 316 North Lemon street, for the celebration of their 42nd wedding anniversary.
Festive holiday decorations centered with a beautifully appointed Christmas tree gave the Rush home a holiday touch. A goose dinner was served, carrying out the tradition started when the Rushes were married 42 years ago in Missouri. At that time Mrs. Rush's sister, Mrs. Andrew Ewing, served goose at the wedding supper. Mr. and Mrs. Ewing were present at Saturday's celebration, as was Dr. W. J. Adams of Fill-

Mountain Party Enjoyed by Group
A two-day house party at Strawberry Flats was enjoyed over the weekend by 14 members of the Young Adult group of the White Temple Methodist church.
Sunday a surprise was in store for the frolickers when they were invited by Everett Granere, president of the organization, to a turkey dinner.
Enjoying the annual event were Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Focht, teacher and song leader of hte class; Bill Lewellyn, Charles Endicott, Bill Fackiner, Wendell Davis and the Misses Wanda Smith, Mary Show, DeLyte Focht, Eloise Forsyth, Helen Pifer, Loretta Nichols and Marie West.
Hilgenfelds Hosts Christmas Day
Mr. and Mrs. S. F. Hilgenfeld were hosts Christmas day to guests enjoying a family dinner held at the family home on East Broadway.
Present were Mr. and Mrs. Rob-

Family Dinner Held At Evans Home
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Evans of South Citron street were hosts Christmas to a holiday celebration and dinner held at the family home.
Poinsettias and white candles over a glazed mirror made an attractive centerpiece for the table. A prettily decorated tree carried out the Christmas theme.

Larimer of Los Angeles, aunt and uncle of Mrs. Evans; Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Boss of LaHabra Heights, Will Foster of Santa Ana, Willis Evans, father of Mr. Evans, of Anaheim, Mrs. Isabelle Erskine of Alhambra, mother of Mrs. Evans and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Evans and daughter Barbara.
Mrs. Roy Eldridge Feted on Birthday
Mrs. Roy Eldridge was completely surprised Saturday evening when she stepped into the home of her daughter, Mrs. Wayne Nash, and was met with cries of "Happy Birthday" from a group of relatives gathered there.
A poinsettia-decorated birthday cake centered the table at which a o'clock dinner was served. An 6 o'clock evening was spent afterwards.
Guests wishing Mrs. Eldridge a happy birthday were Mr. and Mrs. Bradley Hamilton of Bakersfield, Mr. and Mrs. Bingham Watson and children, Wilbur and Wanda Lee, Roy Eldridge and Mr. and Mrs. Nash.

New Daughter is Center of Attention
Tiny Linda Rae Woodrome, 10 days old, was center of attraction yesterday when she came home from the Fullerton General hospital with her mother, Mrs. Chauncey Woodrome, to spend the next few days with her maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. S. H. Berg of South Helena street.
New Year's Day was celebrated by the family with a dinner and informal afternoon, with little Linda Rae making a very successful debut in the year 1941.
Alexander Guests In Daughter's Home
Mr. and Mrs. A. Alexander of 124 Resh street were New Year's Day guests yesterday of Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Stone of Los Angeles.
Mrs. Stone hostessed a lovely holiday dinner, after which an informal afternoon was spent. Mrs. Stone is the daughter of Mrs. Alexander.
Hilgenfelds Hosts Christmas Day
Mr. and Mrs. S. F. Hilgenfeld were hosts Christmas day to guests enjoying a family dinner held at the family home on East Broadway.
Present were Mr. and Mrs. Robert S. Farrar of Santa Ana, Mr. and Mrs. Harvey C. Nunn of Los Angeles, Mr. and Mrs. Lester Apel of Fall City, Nebraska, and Miss Laura Patton of Long Beach.
Mr. and Mrs. Apel are houseguests of the Hilgenfelds and are on their honeymoon. They were married in Nebraska December 15 and plan to continue their trip soon after the New Year celebrations. Mr. Apel is a nephew of the Hilgenfelds.
Clyde Jacksons Hosts New Years Day
Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Jackson were guests New Year's Eve of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Freese for an informal Watch Night party. Refreshments were served at a late hour.
New Year's Day Mrs. Jackson entertained family members and friends with a dinner served at her home. Present were Dr. Verne Jackson, Mr. and Mrs. A. G. Marshall and small daughter, Janet, of Upland, John Jackson, Miss Mary Louise Rundstrom, Mr. and Mrs. David Bush and baby, Peggy, of Newport Beach, and Mrs. Fannie Jackson.
After the delicious pheasant dinner, the guests enjoyed an informal afternoon of discussion and reminiscing.

Harrison Children Ill
Mr. and Mrs. Richard Fuller of

and Mrs. Don Harrison of Santa Ana, are recovering from serious illnesses. Sandra was confined to her bed with pneumonia, and Sue with a seriously infected ear. Both are recovering. Mr. and Mrs. Harrisono were residents of Anaheim until a few months ago.

Mrs. Godfrey Poetz Entertains Bridge Club Members
Mrs. Godfrey Poetz was host last week Monday to members of her bridge club at her home, 94 North Helena street, for a charming Christmas party.
As the guests entered, they walked through a path of pinboughs. A snow man greeted them and gave the scene realistic touch. The Poetz home was beautifully decorated with wreaths and a lighted Christmas tree, around which gifts were exchanged.
Bridge was the diversion of the evening, with prizes going to Mr. Ruth Schilling, Mrs. Jean Raymond and Mrs. Agnes Heeter. Later delicious refreshments were served, including a red-and-green salad, cake and coffee.
Guests were the Mesdamte Agnes Heeter, Lila Nareth, Ethan Hart, Margaret Marten, Opal Walter, Helen King, Jean Raymond and Nellie Hunt. Special guests were Mrs. Lucy Fredericke Mrs. Selma Poetz and Mrs. Ruth Schilling.

Miss Quarton is employed at the Southern California Telephone company in Anaheim and Miss Eadington works as secretary to an orange house.
Spend Day at Crestline
Mr. and Mrs. Donald Doepke returned Monday from a day's stay at Crestline, where they spent an enjoyable afternoon. Very little snow was reported there, although the Doepkes said Snow Valley boasted a little more.
Daughter is Born
A daughter was born December 29 to Mr. and Mrs. Roy DeVore, Rt. 1, Anaheim, at an Orange hospital.
Move to Fullerton
Mrs. Charles W. Croteau moved recently from her home at 510 North Olive to a new residence at 327 North Drake street in Fullerton.

Mr. and Mrs. Bradley Hamilton and sons, Bill and Bob, were holiday guests of Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Eldridge. The Hamiltons are from Bakersfield.

Miss Ree Basford and Collins Hinds were guests Christmas of Mr. and Mrs. Horace Hinds of San Diego for a lovely holiday dinner. They also attended a dinner given by Mr. and Mrs. Don Hain of Santa Ana Sunday in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Bradley Hamilton of Bakersfield.
D. S. Rombough Home
D. S. Rombough returned to his home Saturday after a week in a Long Beach hospital where he underwent a minor operation.

Jack Van Meter returned to duties in the naval corps at San Diego Friday after a two-week leave enjoyed at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. H. Van Meter. Christmas guests were Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Squier of Santa Ana, Mrs. Ada Gunderson of Northwood, Iowa, and Jack Van Meter.

Week End Party in Mountains Planned
Mr. and Mrs. C. Barthelmes will be hosts this week-end to several friends enjoying a mountain outing at the Barthelmes' cabin at Alpine.
Present will be Mr. and Mrs. Rex, Vosberg of Los Angeles, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Holmquist of Alhambra and the host and hostess, Mr. and Mrs. Barthelmes.
Arizona Residents Visit in Anaheim
Mr. and Mrs. W. K. Humbert and Mrs.-G. H. Bailey of Phoenix spent the Christmas holidays in California, dividing their time between Los Angeles and Anaheim. While in this city they were guests of Mr. and Mrs. R. O. Weisel of West Anaheim. They returned to Arizona on Sunday.
Thimble Club Meets At Reisinger Home
Mrs. Berthyle Reisinger was a gracious hostess Friday evening when members of the Lois Rebekah Thimble club met at her home for a Christmas party and gift exchange.
Festive holiday decorations were about the room. Contest games were the diversion of the evening, with the prize going to Mrs. Mary Jones.
Assisting in hostess duties were Mrs. Ora Horn, Mrs. Maybelle Spencer and Miss Barbara Myers. A late supper was served to the group, after which Mrs. Theda Spencer cordially extended an invitation to the club to make her home the next meeting place January 24.
