SOCIETY CLUBS Vows Exchanged by Miss Ida C. Beutel and Oscar Gibbs In a simple ceremony before only the immediate members of the families, Miss Ida C. Beutel daughter of D. C. Beutel of Los Angeles, and Oscar Gibbs, son of Mr. and Mrs. F. N. Gibbs of Anaheim, were married Saturday afternoon by the Rev. Dr. J. P. Davidson. The ceremony took place at St. John's Episcopal church in Los Angeles. Attending the bridal couple were Miss Mary Beutel, sister of the bride, as maid of honor, and Kenneth Sloop of Anaheim, as best man. Following the ceremony, the wedding party dined in a private room at the Arcadie hotel. Seated at the table were the bride and bridegroom and Mr. and Mrs. F. N. Gibbs, Miss Carolyn Gibbs and Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Sloop of Anaheim; Mr. Beutel, Miss Mary Beutel, Mrs. L. N. Gibbs and Miss Laura Gibbs of Los Angeles. Following a two-weeks' wedding trip to Mexico, the new Mr. and Mrs. Gibbs will make their home in Los Angeles. Mrs. Gibbs is a graduate of Los Angeles high school and was employed with the Los Angeles stock exchange. Mr. Gibbs was graduated from Anaheim union high school in 1925 and later attended Occidental college. He is employed with the Consolidated Lumber company at Wilmington. Mrs. Nora Dodge Elected President of W. R. C. Mrs. Nora Dodge will serve as president of A. B. Paul, Woman's Relief corps during the coming year as the result of election of officers conducted at the regular meeting of the group Tuesday afternoon at the I. O. O. F. hall, Mrs. Dodge succeeds Mrs. Mary Mitchell. Other officers elected include Mrs. Alma Pressell, junior vice president; Mrs. Elva Bruederle, treasurer; Mrs. Nina Law, chaplain; and Mrs. Hazel Davis, conductor. Delegates to the convention in May at Santa Monica will be Mrs. Pressell and Mrs. Clara Heying, with Mrs. Law and Mrs. Pearl Fergus selected alternates. Committee reports were also heard during the meeting, at the close of which refreshments were served by Mrs. Mitchell, Mrs. Fergus and Mrs. Pressell. The social club of the unit will meet next Tuesday at the home of Mrs. Mitchell at 717 S. Los Angeles street. Following a pot-luck luncheon at noon Christmas gifts will be exchanged between the members. Assisting Mrs. Mitchell as hostess will be Mrs. Fergus, Mrs. Lizzie Nylen and Mrs. Jennie Nevins. Faculty Members, Wives Guests at Ryan Home A group of faculty members of Anaheim union high school and their wives were dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Ryan on South Indiana street last Saturday evening. Dinner was served on bridge tables with decorations following the football motif. Following dinner bridge was played with prizes going to Mr. and Mrs. John Kennedy and Mr. and Mrs. H.W.Hollinger. Others enjoying the evening were Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Ross, Mr. and Mrs. William Rickel, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Kellogg, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Glover, Mr. and Mrs. William Everhart, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Burden and Mr. and Mrs.A.P.LeTourneau. Jessie Johnston Will Wed on December 18 Saturday, December 18, has been set as the date for the wedding of Miss Jessie Johnston, daughter of Dr. and Mrs Herbert A.Johnston of 1401 S.Los Angeles street, to Scott Noble Thompson of Los Angeles, the parents of the bride-elect announced this week. La Mosk Chorus Cancels Rehearsals During December Rehearsals of the La Mosk chorus, composed of women living in and near Angheim, have been cancelled during the month of December, it was announced yesterday by Mrs. Eva Ter Best, publicity chairman. The group will return to its regular schedule of rehearsals on January 4 at the Loara school, Mrs. Ter Best said. Townsend Club Card Party Series Ends Tomorrow The last of a series of five card parties given by the Townsend club at the clubroom, 210 S. Clementine street, will be held tomorrow evening, playing to begin promptly at 8 o'clock. Prizes will be given for both 500 and pinochle and also a grand prize for high score at the five parties. The event was a part of the Ebell club book section's "vanishing tea" project. Prizes at the close of the contract bridge games were awarded to Mrs. Charles Irwin, Mrs. A. T.
