MORE ABOUT Manchester (Continued from Page 1) welcome, Stanton and Kelly. Victor G. Loly, president of the Anaheim chamber of commerce which planned the affair, presided. Phil Stanton Speaks Stanton reviewed the history of the project, starting with the formation 14 years ago of the Greater Manchester association. He praised the pioneer members of that organization who had the vision to see a great highway in this area. The new boulevard is 33 miles in length and was constructed at a cost of about $3,800,-000, the speaker said. Three lanes in width at most places, plans are now being made to widen the Boulevard to four lanes throughout. Anaheim Man Praised Kelly, in his talk, highly praised Stanton and the work he has done for the state. He also gave statistics on motor travel in the state and predicted even heavier travel in the near future. He closed his remarks with a plea for safety on the highway, declaring that most accidents were caused by the failure of the human equation. Arthur Wilmsen, president of the Licens club, presided at the opening of the luncheon and then turned the gavel over to Lolly. The president of the chamber of commerce introduced the state officials present, persons connected with the building of Manchester, and civic and county officials.
