Conservatory of Music Presents Recital Tomorrow
The Anaheim Conservatory of Music will present a recital tomorrow (Friday) evening at 7:30 o'clock at Fremont school, it has been announced by Mrs. A. Siegel, director.
Assisting the pupils of the conservatory will be dance students of the Orange County Ethel Meglin studios, under the direction of Esther Shields.

Violin students are Irene Stehly, Calvin Stewart, Loystene Stewart, Frank Kellogg, Mary James, George Kelley, Fern Dargatz, Rachel Skundberg, Fumi Fumii, Ruth Ellen Taylor, Naomi Fredrickson, Laelille Roquet, Mary Clark, Betty Baird, Opal Dargatz and Kathryn Smith.
Dance numbers will be given by Louise Heinz, Marilyn Heinz, Elaine Reynolds, Villa Prell, Greta Mae Gulick, Silvia Johnson, Terry Kilduff, and Berenice and Marilyn Hargrove. Nooreen Stine will give a reading.
The conservatory's faculty includes Mrs. Siegel, piano and languages, Peggy Burton Arant, piano and composition, Mrs. John F. Taylor, piano and voice, and Valadimir Lenski, violin.
Mattress Sale is Feature of Store
A special mattress sale is being conducted this month by the Anaheim Furniture store, it has been announced by C. B. Ralston, proprietor. Many outstanding bargains may be obtained in fine mattresses during this sale, it was declared.
Anaheim Furniture store has recently completed restocking its showroom with a large quantity of latest style furniture of all types. Prices, as usual, have been established to meet the public's approval, Ralston said.
Birthday Ball For President Is Gala Affair
The annual Birthday Ball the President proved to be of the outstanding social class of the year when a large crowd Anaheim people gathered at Anaheim Elks clubhouse Saturday evening to honor President and aid in carrying the fight against infantile pysis.
An entertaining, well-placed program combined with dance and cards to provide an enjoyable evening. Thomas L. McFarland acted as master of ceremonies the program which opened a word of welcome to the Mayor Charles H. Mann.
W. Harold Lang of Fulton was the guest speaker of the cassion. He discussed the problem of combatting the dread of each year by the birthday party all over the country is using unfortunate victims.
Musical entertainment was offered by Miss Katherine O'Connor and Miss Ellen Collins, while "Carmina Waltz Song" and "Bells." Joe Kozina presented eral banjo selections and Marion Graaf sang a set from "Queen of the Philippines lands" and "Celia."
A Spanish dance was given Tillie Sanchez, while Vicki Heckman and Edith Brown sent an Irish clog and Mr. Knapp and Harry Heckman fered a comedy number.
At the close of the program giant birthday cake was on Mrs. Charles Mann. As Mrs. Mann were Mrs. Peter Mrs. William LeVecke, Miss me Dillon and Miss Rose

Birthday Ball
for President
Gala Affair
The annual Birthday Ball for President, proved to be one of the outstanding social events the year when a large crowd of people gathered at the Neheim Elks clubhouse last Saturday evening to honor the president and aid in carrying on fight against infantile paralysis. Thomas L. McFadden was a master of ceremonies for the program, which opened with word of welcome to the guests Mayor Charles H. Mann.
Harold Lang of Fullerton invited the guest speaker of the occasion. He discussed the problems combatting the dread disease told how the money raised by the birthday balls over the country is used in fighting unfortunate victims. Musical entertainment was offered by Miss Katherine Collins, Miss Ellen Collins, who sang "Marmina Waltz Song" and "Sleigh Bells," Joe Kozina presented sev. banjo selections and Mission Graaf sang a selection from "Queen of the Philippine Isles" and "Celia."
Spanish dance was given by Joe Sanchez, while Warren Beckman and Edith Brown predeceased Irish clog and Marjorie App and Harry Heckman offered a comedy number.

Anaheim Girl Tours State With Glee Club
Katherine McCullah, graduate of Anaheim high school, will be one of thirty-two members of the incidental college women's glee club which leaves tomorrow on its annual tour of California cities.
Miss McCullah is the daughter of Mrs.KateE.McCullah, 803 W.Enter,Anaheim.
The glee club will visit Santa Barbara,Bakersfield,Fillmore,and many other cities on its tour.
Lois Rebekah Lodge Installs New Officers
Lois Rebekah lodge No.268 installed officers for the coming year at ceremonies conducted last Friday evening at the Odd Fellows hall.
The installing officer was Miss Nora Edwards, district deputy president. She was assisted by Neya Harris, deputy marshal, and a staff of 10 guards. All are from Orange.
Elective officers installed were Iphegenia Grow, junior past noble grand, Barbara Myers,noble grand,Carrie Cummings,vice grand,Maggie Myers, recording secretary, Elsie Borth, financial secretary,and Lizzie Nylen,treasurer.
The new appointive officers are Myrtla Saunders, warden,Bonnie Miller, conductor, Eileen Peck, chaplian,Maude Adams,musician, Eva Scutt,R.S.N.G.,Leone Nelson,L.S.N.G.,Lola Compton,R.S.V.G.,Berthyle Reising,L.S.V.G.,Florence Bousins inside guardian,Mae Willis, outside guardian,Eva Hilton,R.A.S.,and Irene Menth,L.A.S.
The noble grand,vice grand and past noble grand were all given gifts by the lodge.
Refreshments were served following the ceremony.

A large crowd of Katella district residents attended the benefit show given by the Katella School Parent-Teacher association last Friday evening.
Two one-act plays were presented by Anaheim union high school students under the direction of Mrs. Faye Kern Schulz. The students offered "A Very Sick Man" and "My Cousin from Sweden."
A five-reel picture, "The Pony Express," was another feature of the entertainment.
Paul Blocker, principal of Katella school, awarded letters to the boys' and girls' baseball teams.

Riutcel-Smith Wins County Sales Prize
Riutcel-Smith Furniture company of Anaheim was this week awarded a gold medal by the Southern Counties Gas company as the leading seller of Electrolux refrigerators in this district.
A letter of congratulations and other prizes were also given the company.
Riutcel-Smith company, the oldest furniture business in Anaheim, has at the present time special offers on 1930 Electrolux models.
