County Fair To End On Sunday Nearing the close of the greatest showing in all of its history, the 15th annual Los Angeles County fair today prepared for a glorious final week end in which education, amusement and recreation will be combined to form a program so varied and so interesting as to serve as a fitting climax to the mighty panorama. Not only has the fair broken all attendance records thus far but it promises to go over the top with a total well in excess of 600,000, or 100,000 gain over a year ago. New and novel features will characterize the closing days. On Saturday and Sunday there will be a great dog show with over 500 entries. On the closing Sunday afternoon there will be the million dollar livestock parade in which the grand champions, the champions and other feature entries will pass in review before the grandstand. Friday is scheduled as Orange county day and inasmuch as Orange county's fair is combined with the Los Angeles county show, it is expected that there will be a great turnout from this section. Saturday has been designated as Veterans' day and Spanish American War Veterans, Veterans of foreign wars and members of their auxiliaries will attend in force. For the final days of the exposition all exhibits will be placed in the best possile condition. In all departments ribbons will be in place so that the prize winners can be readily recognized. Cocktail Lounge Is Added to Cafe Anaheim Youths Win Fair Prizes Orange county 4-H club members have been awarded several prizes at the Los Angeles county fair at Pomona, it has been announced. In the livestock division Paul Foss of Yorba Linda was awarded first for a Berkshire sow, and Clair Wakeham of Garden Grove second for his Hereford steer. Other winners were Lester Paulus of Orange, first ribbon and cup for best fowl in American class; and John Hastings of Anaheim first ribbon and cup for the best fowl in the Mediterranean class. Bruce Gelker of Olive won third ribbon on his Flemish steel gray rabbit; Joe Lieb, Jr., of Anaheim, took a first, second and third on his pigeons. Gordon Sieveke of Anaheim was awarded a second ribbon on his Rhode Island Red hen and Evelyn Truxler of Anaheim was awarded a special first on her pen of Brahmas. Victor Heim was given a first on his Rhode Island hen. Everett and Richard Ristow of Olive were awarded third prize on their white Leghorn entries. Billie Burg of Olive took second and fifth on his White Leghorns. Two of the Orange county 4-H agricultural clubs had feature booths entered. Both of these were awarded cash prizes of $10 each. One was entered by the Katella Farmers under the leadership of A. C. Sutliff. The other was entered by the La Habra club under the leadership of R. E. Launer. Alley's talk next Tuesday evening at the Orange county forum being held at the music room of Anaheim union high school. This will be Lieut. Alley's second appearance here as forum speaker. Several new speakers have been obtained for the forum, it was announced, including Dr. Allen Blaisdell, director of International house at Berkeley; Everett Dean Martin, head of the department of public education at Claremont college; John Brown Mason, professor of history and government at Colorado Woman's college, and Frank Miles, editor of the Iowa Legionnaire.
