New Prizes Are Won by Juniors In addition to the many ribbons and the cups awarded Orange County 4-H club members last week, an official report announces further prizes. Miss Helen Waer of Santa Ana was awarded two first prizes and a grand championship for her entries of Jersey calves in the junior fair and was awarded second and third cash prizes for her calves in the open classes. In addition, Miss Waer was awarded a large silver cup for her outstanding ability in showmanship in the judging ring. In the apiary division, Joe Lieb, Jr., of Anaheim was awarded first and second prize for his exhibits of bees in glass frames. Jim Launer of La Habra was awarded a first on his exhibit of orange honey. These winnings, together with the large number of awards received in poultry, hogs, beef calves and in clothing and fea- St. Catherine’s Has Bigger Enrollment St. Catherine's Military school opened the current scholastic year with the largest enrollment in its history. Nearly 75 cadets registered for the opening day and many more will enter before October 1. Boys from many points in the United States and foreign countries are among the enrollees. South America and several Central American states are represented. The cadet battalion and band is preparing for its first public appearance which will be November 11 at Santa Ana in the Orange County Armistice Day parade. The cadets will endeavor to extend their list of consecutive victories to twelve.
