In the superior court Friday the request of Attorney Walter Eden that J. H. Higgins of Yuba county, be discharged as administrator of the estate of Jane Boylan Cook and Public Administrator Winbigler be appointed, was granted. Eden, representing W. E. Cook, husband of the deceased, declared that Higgins had never filed an inventory of the property of the estate, as required by law. O. T. Callor, attorney for Higgins, admitted that his client had been negligent. The court sustained Eden. In this estate letters written by her Mrs. Cook were held to be her will and under those letters the estate would go to relatives other than her husband. Upon that ruling there is an appeal to the supreme court.

A team of horses belonging to the Anaheim Truck & Transfer company, created some excitement on East Center street Saturday by running away. They were hitched to a truck which was partially loaded with brick. The truck was being loaded at the Santa Fe tracks when a freight train backing into the car frightened the horses. Albert Cook, the driver, was thrown off and the frightened animals ran unhampered until they turned into Claidina street, where they encountered Cooney Mauerhan. Cooney climbed onto the truck from the rear and stopped the runaways. There was no damage—not even a brick was lost.

Mrs. DeGraf, Domestic Science Teacher, Considera Them the Best
Mrs. B. DeGraf, the noted domestic science teacher, is giving lessons in baking to a large class of ladies at the Masonic Temple building, and will also visit other towns, being in the county about eight weeks. Mrs. DeGraf is extremely particular about the materials she uses in her demonstrations and will have nothing but the best. She uses flour made by the Sperry company, and Valencia Pure Lard, manufactured by the Anaheim Beef & Provision company.
These may both be considered home products, and the fact that Mrs. DeGraf considers them the best should be a source of pride to Anaheim. The Anaheim Beef & Provision company manufactures its products here, and while the Sperry Flour company's mills are located elsewhere that company recently purchased the Anaheim Milling company's plant and is making this its headquarters and distributing point in Orange county. Both the flour and the lard may be considered home products.
