Our Business Is Banking
Banking Is Our Business
The sign "Bank" does not make a bank and is often misleading. It requires time, energy, close attention to business, a substantial capital and ripe experience in banking to make a bank. We claim, without blushing, all the essentials necessary to make our business that of banking, and tender our patrons a service thoroughly seasoned by years of experience, backed by a substantial capital and a large surplus.

The musical program given at the Presbyterian church last Thursday evening by the well-known vocalist, Miss Juanita Powers, was enjoyed by a large audience. Miss Powers' numbers proved her ability in rendering difficult selections with ease, and her voice showed to excellent advantage, while the lighter songs were given most pleasingly. That she has the faculty of imparting correct methods of singing to others was shown in the songs given by Misses Alice Grimshaw, Anna Hand, Suzanne Beebe and Lillian Balfour, who assisted in the program, and who are some of the pupils who have studied under her. The ease of manner, clear pronunciation and fullness of tone of the teacher was admirably shown in the performances of the pupils, and the accompaniment of Mrs. Phillips at the piano added to the charm of all the vocal selections.
