City Clerk Merritt has completed the mailing of sample ballots to voters for Monday's bond election. Polls will be open at the city hall from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. O. Lagman has purcahsed a 50-foot lot on South Claudina street from Mrs. Konig, paying $1000 therefor, and will soon begin the erection of a $2500 residence thereon. Joseph Fiscus came up from his walnut orchard yesterday, saying it was too wet to continue pruning operations. Joe says it was raining $20 gold pieces out his way. Some automobile drivers, more especially those from neighboring towns will do well to put on the brakes on reaching the business center. The marshal has his eye on them. The security is the American Security company of New York. The associated chambers of commerce met last evening at Buena Park. The county road bond issue seems deferred until after the people see what the state will do with its $18,000,000 issue. Miss William Huff of Long Beach was an over-Sunday visitor of her father, F. A. Gates. Mr. Gates has been confined to his bed for sometime but hopes are now entertained for his speedy recovery. Newport Beach will in the near future vote on $55,000 bonds for a municipal lighting system. The city has agreed to pay the private lighting company now operating there the sum of $15,000 for its works. Gus Kneipp is acting as keeper of the place in West Anaheim owned by Drs. Johnston and Houck. A recent court decision ousted the Japs who claimed a lease, and Gus is there to see that the little brown men stay off the place. Mr. and Mrs. Lybarger this week entertained Mr. and Mrs. G. L. Shoemaker and daughter of Severy, Kans., and J. W. Dickson of Piedmont, Kans. They are touring Southern California and spent several days with their old-time friends here. Hardt has opened a sanitary plumbing establishment at 207 South Lemon, where he is ready to do all kinds of work entrusted to his care. Mr. Hardt is a mechanic of years' experience, and makes a specialty of repair work. He guarantees all work, and asks a portion of the public patronage. Mr. and Mrs. John Medbury and son, B. Medbury, of Wisconsin, who have been spending the winter at Long Beach, and Mrs. Jullette Bailey, a sister of Mr. Medbury of Los Angeles, are in the city on a visit to Mr. Medbury's sister, Mrs. W.I.Carver. Mr. Medbury contemplates locating in the southland. Hans Weisel was in town on Saturday attending to legal matters, having come from Los Angeles, where he had been at the bedside of his wife, who was operated upon at the Good Samaritan hospital last week for appendicitis. Five physicians were in attendance at the operation. Mrs. Weisel continues to improve, and reports from the hospital are most encouraging. Attorney Spencer is in receipt of a communication from Assemblyman Bishop asking information relative to public opinion here concerning the creation of a new superior judgeship for Orange county.Mr.Spencer has interviewed a number of leading citizens relative thereto and finds unanimous endorsement of the plan。他 states Judge West's calendar is filled up until June,and the judge has under advisement a number of cases which he has not found time to decide.Mr.Spencer will probably secure a number of endorsements of citizens and taxpayers and will forward them to Mr.Bishop at Sacra TERM TRIAL JURORS Among the list of term trial jurors selected by the superior court are Luke Woodward of Fullerton, S. Winters of Buena Park, P. H. Krick of Anaheim, B. F. Porter, N. Frank Morse, George Annin, B. F. Kenney of Fullerton, George Wilcox of Buena Park and L. A. Evans of this city. Newcomers in town this week declared Anaheim has the cleanest streets of all cities in Southern California. Next Sunday's ball game on the home grounds will be a good one, the Monita Merchants of Los Angeles again trying their strength with the champions. The Merchants have been defeated twice by Anaheim by narrow margin. He reports ducks coming in in large numbers than earlier in the season, and shooting good. On Friday evening, Col. Royer mustered in Helmet company of Los Angeles, assisted by Lieut. Amstutz; Chaplain Beale and Mr. Idlor of this city and members of Companies 25 and 40 of that city. Attention is directed to the advertisement of Theodore Roberts, who has opened a jewelry store on East Center street in the premises formerly occupied by the Home investment company. Mr. Roberts was for years engaged with a prominent Los Angeles jewelry house, and is a jeweler of many years practical experience. His wife was formerly Miss Ella Stroka of this city, and has many warm personal friends here who will welcome her and Mr. Roberts to this city. The municipal election or voting bonds in the sum of $98,500 for sewers and additions to the city's electric lighting plant occurs at the city hall on Monday. There will be only one precinct, and polls will be open from 6 to 6. Of the bonds to be voted, $90,000 is for the construction of a sewer system and acquiring a sewer farm, and $8500 for making necessary additions to the lighting plant. These issues should appeal to all progressive citizens, and the bonds should be carried. Creation of a new superior judgeship for Orange county. Mr. Spencer has interviewed a number of leading citizens relative thereto and finds unanimous endorsement of the plan. He states Judge West's calendar is filled up until June, and the judge has under advisement a number of cases which he has not found time to decide. Mr. Spencer will probably secure a number of endorsements of citizens and taxpayers and will forward them to Mr. Bishop at Sacramento. Petition for letters of administration were filed in the county clerk's office Tuesday morning in the estate of Elizabeth Schumacher, who died January 15, 1911, at her home in this city.
