Meeting Again Postponed Eight stockholders in the Anaheim Union Water company met at the office of the company on Saturday morning to attend the adjourned annual meeting of stockholders, which was called by a few dissatisfied stockholders, two of whom are anxious to elect themselves to a place upon the board. Mr. Crowther presided, and a call of proxies represented showed 1483 shares represented, out of more than 8000 issued. Of these Mr. Crowther answered to 114, which with other stock present and not in harmony with the kickers, left them with probably 1200 shares. This is enough to elect one director out of seven composing the board. Clarence McFadden appeared as leader of the opposition. Statesman desGranges was absent. The meeting adjourned without discussion to the last Saturday in July. Deafness Cannot be Cured by local applications, as they cannot reach the diseased portion of the ear. There is only one way to cure deafness, and that is by constitutional remedies. Deafness is caused by an inflamed condition of the mucous lining of the Eustachian Tube. When this tube is inflamed you have a rumbling sound or imperfect hearing, and when it is entirely closed, Deafness is the result, and unless the inflammation can be taken out and this tube restored to its normal condition, hearing will be destroyed forever; nine cases out of ten are caused by Catarrh, which is nothing but an inflamed condition of the mucous surfaces. We will give One Hundred Dollars for any case of Deafness (caused by catarrh) that cannot be cured by Hall's Catarrh Cure. Send for circulars, free. F. J. CHENEY & CO., Toledo, O. The Los Angeles Motorcycle Club will hold an Endurance Run May 30th and 31st, 1908, between Los Angeles and San Diego. J. H. Shafer, W. A. Hann and O. D. Stanton are the committee on laying out the route and all other plans, and as these gentlemen have been over the route between the two cities several times, no doubt the endurance part of the trip will be hard. The run will be under the rules and with the sanction of the Federation of American Motorcyclists. Under the rules of the F. A. M., no event shall be recognized as an endurance or reliability contest which is of less distance than 300 miles; in which the travel shall average less than 150 miles per day; in which the course is repeated more than once; in which controls shall be less than 25 miles apart; in which arrival times at controls are not definitely fixed, or in which more than 30 minutes are allowed as neutral time at controls. The run to San Diego via coast route will come very nicely within these rules, and competitors personally shall be required to sign the checking sheets at controls, but they must not be permitted to insert their arrival times, which shall be done by the control-keeper, or his authorized assistant, whose timing shall govern in case of dispute. Mufflers and brakes shall be required, and the rate of speed will probably be set at about 20 miles per hour. It is expected that a good number of members and other riders will go on this run, and arrangements are nearly completed.
