See the advertisement in another column. Mrs. J. E. Lewis, wife of Lieut. Lewis of the U.S.S. battleship Missouri, was a guest over Sunday of Mrs. S. L. Beebe. She arrived on Saturday evening, and departed on Monday morning for Santa Barbara. She was enthusiastic in her praise of California. Lieut. Zeus, died on Saturday evening at the residence of the latter after a lingering illness due to a series of internal complications. Deceased was aged 59 years and 6 months, and had resided at Grand Island, Nebraska, whither the remains were shipped on Monday morning. Mrs. Zeus accompanied the body. Deceased had been a guest of relatives here for some months past. She was in ill health, and it was thought the change of climate might benefit her.
