VIRGINIA CITY, Oct. 26.
Noon.—The city got on fire this morning, and it is still burning. The water supply has given out entirely, rendering the fire engines unserviceable. The flames spread rapidly, burning the Bank of California, Western Union and Atlantic and Pacific Telegraph offices, Wells, Fargo & Co.'s Express office, Virginia Daily Enterprise, the Consolidated Virginia new mill and machinery with hoisting works including the Ophir Mining Co.'s works. All the mining stocks have tumbled considerably in consequence of the fire; so says the San Francisco Stock and Exchange Board. The Virginia and Truckee railroad warehouse and offices are also burned. Buildings are being blown up to stop the spreading of the fire.
SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 25
Officer Metzter and Orialy arrested an old confidence man named R. T. Toebay alias Darby at the North German hotel on Jackson street this morning. About two weeks ago Toebay went to Sacramento and represented to the citizens of that town that he was one of the newly elected supervisors of this city, and during his perambulations he met a Mrs. Thomas Brown, whose husband is employed in the R. R. Co. He paid her assiduous attention for a few days and an eloquence was decided upon by the two. As it was necessary to have some money to travel with he went about to get it. While the husband was at work, Toebay is said to have engaged a colored expressman, and the two drove up to Brown's house, loaded the wagon with trunks, clothing, gold watch and chain, sleeve buttons and five hundred dollars in coin belonging to Brown. The two runaways left immediately for San Francisco, and took

The Supreme Court has just affirmed the decision of our District Court in the following cases: Maxey vs. Thurman, Ferguson vs. Ross, Robinson vs. Palmer, and Porter vs. De Cells; and reversed in the case of Standifer vs. Phelan. The case of Kelley vs. Brandini is remanded with directions.
It will be remembered that on last Saturday Tin Wo, proprietor of a washhouse here, and sub-agent for one of the Chinese Companies, issued a hand-bill warning the public against the pugilistic tendencies of Ah Foo, while under the influence of the ardent, and requesting all persons not to furnish strong drink to the said Ah Foo. It, however, being impossible to restrain the gentleman from getting his skin full, "when so dispoged," and as his propensity to square off at every white male citizen seemed to increase, Tin Wo has shipped him off to China. This, we understand is the usual custom when a Chinaman becomes insane.

The two runaways left immediately for San Francisco, and took rooms on Minna street. The wife will be taken back to Sacramento with her lover this afternoon. All the stolen property, with the exception of the coin, has been found.
SANTA CRUZ, Oct. 25.

Recent competition in business is supposed to have led to his despondency. He leaves a son in Los Angeles, but was without family here. The Coroner's Jury to-day returned a verdict in accordance with the above facts.

YOUNG MEN
Who may be suffering from the effect of youthful follicles or indiscretion, will do well to avail themselves of this, the greatest boon ever laid at the altar of suffering humanity. Dr. SPINNEY will guarantee to forfeit $500 for every case of seminal weakness or private disease of any kind or character which he undertakes and fails to cure. He would therefore say to the unfortunate sufferer who may realise this notice, that you are treading upon dangerous ground when you longer delay in seeking the proper remedy for your complaint. You may be in the first stage; remember you are approaching the last. If you are bordering upon the last, and are suffering some or all of its ill effects, remember that if you persist in procrastination, the time must come when the most skillful physician can render you no assistance; when the door of hope will be closed against you; when no angel of mercy can bring you relief. In no case has the Doctor failed of success. Then it is not spair work upon your imagination, but await yourself of the beneficial results of his treatment before your case is beyond the reach of medical skill, or before grim death hurries you to a premature grave. Full course of treatment $25 00. Bnd money by Postoffice order or Express with full distribution of case.
