WASHINGTON, D. C., March 16.
In the House, Wheeler offered a resolution, the Senate concurring, that the Senate and House close the present session on the 20th inst., at 12 o'clock. Agreed to—yeas, 117; nays, 76.
Samana Bay, Feb. 28.—The United States steamer Nantucket arrived from San Domingo City on the 18th. Commissioner Andrew D. White left San Domingo overland for Puerto Plata. At the latter place he will be taken on board the Nantucket, and proceed Port au Prince, where he will have an interview with General Cabral.
Much excitement was caused in San Domingo by the official announcement. The inhabitants of Bani and San Chrimal hauled down the Dominican colors, and raised the American flag. Commissioner Howe has gone to Bani to investigate the matter. A revolutionary force, composed of adherents of ex-President Salnavve, were about marching against Hayti, with the object of overthrowing Saget, and placing I Conte at the head.
Washington, March 16.—The contract for Ocean mail service between San Francisco and San Diego, and intermediate ports, has been awarded to Harry Norton, of San Francisco.
Vienna, March 16.—Emperor Francis Joseph has dispatched Count Poeki to Berlin to salute Emperor William upon his accession to the Imperial Crown of Germany.
Dissentions prevail at Montmartre. The journals continue to spur the Government to crush the insurrection.

ENTERPRIZE.—Mr. John Fischer, of the Planter's Hotel, has, during the week erected the frame work of a large and commodious building on Los Angeles street, to be used as an addition to the stable of that hotel.
Messrs Knox & Rumble have erected a commodious barn, for private use, on Lemon street.
Mr. Squires has just finished setting out four acres of Walnut trees.
Mr. Clark has also concluded the setting out of a peach and apple orchard of five acres, west of the city.

Dear Sir:—The Wind Wm. Taber did Landing last night. Suppose they will return to morrow from San Diego.
For the Orizaba we have—30 pipes and puncheons wine, 8 bxs eggs, 110 sks corn.
For the Wm. Tabor—51 pipes and puncheons wine.
ARRIVED:
March 15—Schr Emiline Fransen, with 85,000 feet of lumber, consigned to Huntington, & Dicken, some 40,000 feet of which belongs to the Santa Ana Flume Company.
SAILED:
March 16—Schr Emiline Fransen, with 50 sks corn, consigned to Souquel.
As soon as they return and deliver our freight, I will send a list.
We had a most terrible blow on the day before yesterday. It was so rough we could not take the Lighters outside, consequently the steamers had to go by without stopping. Yours Truly,

DEPARTURES.—Mr. Henry Kroeger, Mr Henry Bremmerman and Mr. John P. Zeyn,vineyardists, went to San Francisco by last steamer.

DEPARTURES.—Mr. Henry Kroeger, Mr Henry Bremmerman and Mr. John P. Zeyn, vineyardists, went to San Francisco by last steamer.
RAIN.—On Sunday night last, our vicinity was showered by a rain 1-16 of an inch in depth. It freshened up the vegetation, but its effect was weakened, by a high wind from of the Ocean which followed it on Tuesday.
DISSOLUTION.—The firm of Hubbard & Hunter, of U. S. Exchange Anaheim, was dissolved by mutual consent on the 13th instant. W. G. Hubbard, will hereafter conduct the business as sole proprietor.
About twenty people who came down on the last steamer, have settled in and around Anaheim.
FIRE AT Santa Ana.—On Monday night last, the 13th instant, the house of Manuel Manriquez, near Santa Ana, and between the houses of Mr. Casad and Mr. Sepulveda, took fire and was completely destroyed. The family were asleep at the time, and did not awaken until the flames were well under way. Upon making the discovery, they escaped precipitately out of a window, except a little blind boy, who, unable to see his way, perished in the flames. The deputy marshal of Anaheim has raised a sum of money by subscription for the distressed family.
