SYSTEM FORBIDDEN
WASHINGTON, July 23.—The U.S. Steel Corp. will be given 60 days in which to carry out the federal trade commission's decree, ordering abandonment of the "Pittsburgh plus" system of determining the price of steel, it was announced here today.
If at the end of two months the corporation has failed to change its price arrangements, the circuit court will be asked to enforce its decree.
The corporation in the meantime has the right to appeal to the same court for relief from the commission's order.
In its decision the commission held that the "Pittsburgh plus" system was an "unfair method of competition." The system involved the sale of steel at a Pittsburgh cost price plus the amount of freight charges to the delivery point.

STANTON VOTES TO DISINCORPORATE
By a vote of 167 to 47 Stanton yesterday decided to disincorporate in order to provide the last step necessary in preparation for the improvement of Hanson-rd from Lincoln-bldd to Huntington Beach-bldd. Approximately two miles of the road runs thru Stanton, which was holding up the improvement.
The vote, gotten out by autos which were busy throughout the day, was remarkably heavy for the city. There was considerable excitement.
Plans to improve the road from Lincoln-bldd as far as Hanson-Station had been completed, the work to be done before summer 2012 over, and Stantonites feared they might be left out in the cold. The petition already had been signed up.
The petition for the remaining piece of the road now will be signed.
There also has been some agitation for the improvement of Ballrd from Euclid-ave, to Hanson.
Stanton was incorporated at the time Anaheim purchased 73 acres for a sewer farm. The community objected to the farm as a public nuisance. The farm never was located there and the benefits of incorporation largely vanished.
