B. Chaffee and family of North La Habra are spending three weeks at their cottage home at Balboa Beach. Ms. Nanomi Heilwick of San Dema has been visiting at the Camfield home for the past week returned to her home Thursday she was accompanied by Misses Alta Canfield, Ruth Balcom, Mrs. Ralph Kerchner, and Warren Canfield, the Hilliwicks and Camfields are cousins. Mrs. J. L. Shara of Villa Park was a guest of her sister Mrs. J. B. Mans of North Cypress street Thursday. Work has begun on Cypress street the street is now being graded from county line to Ocean avenue. Mr. Burt Hampton and Mr. Ansley has the work in charge. Mrs. George Stubbs entertained at a Tuesday afternoon tea on E. Central avenue. Guests for the afternoon included Mrs. J. L. Balconi, Mrs. R. Come, Misses Alta Camfield, Ruth and Rexana Balcom. Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Walker accompanied by Mr. G. F. Walker were guests at the F. M. Stamps home in Maywood Friday. Mrs. C. C. Chapman accompanied by her mother, Mrs. A. C. Bradshaw of Maywood were callers at the U. R. Phillips home on South College avenue Wednesday. The regular weekly luncheon of the Kiwanis was held at the social hall Thursday. A very interesting meeting in which Nick Harris of the detective agency in Los Angeles was the speaker, his subject being why crime doesn't pay. Also the Boy Scouts were guests of the day. Dahlin of San STREET WIDENED Preparations for the extension of the business district of Fullerton was made last night at a meeting of the property holders of West Wilshire avenue when it was agreed to donate the city a 10-foot strip on Wilshire from Spadra road to Malden avenue to widen this street from 60 to 70 feet. The agreement was reached by the unanimous action of the property holders represented. Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Kenworthy of friend, Mr. Ed Cobb of Santa Ana but recently of Oregon, Thursday evening at their home. Balboa Beach visitors Friday were Miss Ocle Cooley and Nita Kenworthy. Church is improved after an operation for appendicitis. She will be to her home in two weeks. Visitors at the J. C. Kenworthy home on South College are Misses Doris and Trixie Alexander of San Diego. Miss B. Bunce of Bakersfield is a house guest at the C. E. Campbell home on South College avenue. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Baxter of Long Beach are week end visitors at the La Habra Hotel. They wire former La Habrans. Mrs Howell of Tallbrook is visiting at the homes of her two daughters Mrs. R. Root and Mrs. T. R.Fisher. George Ingleby of Yorba Linda who has been employed in the butcher shop of the Miller Grocery left his job to take a job to fire boilers for an oil company in his home town Harry O'Connel has been taking his place. Mrs. G. E. Sutton and children and Laddie Morris spent Friday at Huntington Beach fishing. Ingram of South College avenue, a 10-1-2 pound girl, the little Miss made her appearance Friday, Dr. Burgeson assisted in finding homes for the youngsters. The Church of Christ which has been newly organized his purchased property from Mrs. Sadie Ross on the corner of First and Cypress Work will commence this week on the erection of the new edifice. Luther Lindauer and sons are erecting a new building on North Hiatt street adjoining the Standard Service Station. The building will be used as a garage for the huge sand trucks, and as a mechanic shop for repair work. Charles James has sold his home on Erna street, he has moved to Des Moines. Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Redfern and Mr. and Mrs. Comer Redfern recently of Exeter California enjoyed a plenic lunch at Long Beach recently.
