A phonograph should never be placed opposite an open door or window. The quality of tone produced depends upon the vibrations, and when they have a chance to spread out and escape into a large space, much of the quality and volume is lost. It is better to place the phonograph opposite a bare wall which will throw back the sound evenly throughout the room.
