MANY ATTEND DALE
GARAGE OPENING
One of the biggest gatherings of leaders in the automobile distributing business that has ever been present in an Anaheim auto showroom was on hand Monday evening when Dale and Company opened their new handsome display room and garage at 350 South Los Angeles street; Most of the big fellows were Reo factory officials from Los Angeles, including President B. C. Foy, secretary of the Los Angeles Motor car Dealers Association; Wilmer Wood, wholesale manager; Day Faccett, service manager; and George Neeffs, manager of the parts department of the factory. Ten or twelve members of the office and sales force also were on hand.
A. D. Pugsley, factory branch representative, another man present, is remaining over for a couple of days to help manager C. W. Cromer of the Anaheim office get things going.
San Pedro, Ontario, Glendale, and Pasadena branch managers with the members of their sales forces, to say nothing about most of the force from Santa Ana, also attended.
There was a dance, as well as a reception, and some delicious punch, strictly kickless, was served to the 500 guests who came in the course of the evening.
The cars exhibited included a Paekard with a Boysen California sliding glass top, Packard sport sedan, standard Packard sedan, Reo coupe with special brown leather upholstery, specially equipped Reo five-passenger sedan, standard Reo touring car and standard Sport Reo phaeton. Other cars and Reo speed wagons were exhibited in the garage at the rear.
The showroom is as handsome as any in town. The walls are in a model Tiffany effect of many colors, the ceiling of sky blue and white and the floor of Italian marble, while four big windows permit plenty of light. The showroom is 40x40 and the garage 100x50. Driftwood gray woodwork is used throughout the offices and showrooms. There are an open office, private office, stock room and ladies' and gentlemen's rest rooms.
In the garage there is a pit for SEELIG OPENS IN BUETHER MARKET
Sam Seelig, with his slogan, "Cash is King," has arrived in Anaheim and is placing a fine line of groceries on the shelves in the Reuther market building, 129 West Center street. The Seelig company has purchased the stock of Wm. Fassel, and is occupying both sides of the building. The grand opening will be held later.
ELKS WILL TAKE
BRIEF VACATION
Anaheim Elks will lay off from the name of baseball for a couple of weeks vacation. Having played steadily, with exception of a few Sundays off rain, winter and summer during the last two years, Manager Pele Hax believes danger of staleness will be obviated by a rest before the Elks state championship league race gets under way next month.
Hughes' arm is sore and Hawkins has been suffering from tonsillitis while several other of the athletes are suffering from colds. Also, several are working nights this month in the oil fields. So, everything indicates it would be desirable to lay off for a couple of Sundays. The next game will be May 27. It is expected that Herb Salveson will be back for mound duty then.

WATER CONSUMPTION GROWING RAPIDLY
Anaheim's consumption of water, with the coming of the warm wave, is growing by leaps and bounds. On Tuesday 1,425,556 gallons of water were used and on Monday 1,606,704 gallons.
These totals compare with 700,.964 gallons on April 7, one month ago, and with 606,232 on April 8. On Jan. 31, with a rain storm, 291,.412 gallons were consumed.
Anaheim's bigger population, with 405 more water meters in use than a year ago, the biggest gain in the city's history is responsible. V. W. Hannum, superintendent of the power house, declares. The advance was between May 1 last year and this.
Of course 48 new water connections were added with the annotation of the Mexican colony between Anaheim and Orangethorpe in the North Palm street vicinity, but this was a minor factor.
Watering lawns and gardens, additional washing and street sprinkling largely account also for the gain in water consumption. Hannum avers.
