BANDITS RAID AND ROB DISTILLERY (By International News Service) LOUISVILLE, Ky., April 28.—The office and storehouse of the W. B. Samuels distillery, in Nelson County, were riddled early today by shots fired by a band of about 15 bandits who made away with twenty barrels of bonded whiskey. Miss Lydia Samuels, 20, daughter of the owner, narrowly missed death when the bandits fired upon the Samuels residence. All telephone communication with that district is out of commission as the robbers severed all wires. When Miss Johanna Noonan receives her diploma from the University of Tennessee next June she will be the first woman engineer graduate in the State of Tennessee and so far as records show, in the entire South. Miss Tatta, First Hindu woman to be admitted to the bar, belongs to one of the richest and most influential families in India. Among the German peasantry, should a mother lose the heel of one of her shoes, she takes that to be a sign that one of her children will die before the year is out. One New York City magistrate has won the ever lasting gratitude of the fair sex by declaring that no woman who appears in his court shall have to tell her true age against her will. It is an interesting coincidence that three of the foremost women tennis players in America—Mrs. May Sutton Bundy, Mrs. George W. Wrightman and Mrs. Benjamin E. Cole—are each the mother of three children. LEGAL NOTICE IN THE SUPERIOR COURT OF THE COUNTY OF ORANGE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA. No. 14779 Notice for publication of Time of Proving Will Etc.
