USL Growing Preference for USL Among Battery Service Stations More than 550 Battery Stations in all parts of the country stand back of USL Storage Batteries for automobiles. These service men are discriminating judges. They see and test all makes of batteries daily. They could have chosen any make of battery to sell and service. Based on their action our experience and definite knowledge, they chose USL. Sixty-one makes of motor cars now use USL batteries as standard equipment. Nearly three times as many batteries were sold through the USL distributing organization the latter six months of 1922 as during the corresponding period in 1921. This definite approval and preference from automobile manufacturers, battery service stations and car owners is a safe guide to you in the selection of the battery for your car. G. H. Scott reports that such rapid progress is being made by the drillers that a record finish seems probable in Bemco No. 1 located on Bixby Heights of Signal Hill. The multitude of Anaheim investors will be gratified to know that so many wells have come in recently near conceded by everyone to absolutely proven ground. Unit holders who have made recent inspection of the well have, as a result of the apparent certainty of a big producer, largely increased their holdings. In fact Mr. Scott announces that units will soon all be sold and the opportunity to secure an interest in an "inside" well will soon be gone. In addition to such certainty of a gusher well, Mr. Scott pointed out that the capitallization of Bemco is phenomenally low, being only $125,000, and no ICE JAMS FLOOD BUSINESS DISTRICT (Py International News Service) PETOSKEY, Mich., 'April 21.—Northern Michigan rivers are running wild, many districts are inundated and both rail and road traffic is halted by floods from the rapid melting of snow. Ice jams were being blasted away at Ontonagon, in an effort to lower the flood which has covered the business district there with 18 inches of water, the highest on record in 40 years. In fact Mr. Scott announces that units will soon all be sold and the opportunity to secure an interest in an "inside" well will soon be gone. In addition to such certainity of a gusher well, Mr. Scott pointed out that the capitalization of Bemco is phenomenally low, being only $125,000, and no "promotion" stock held back. In determining investment in these days of inflated valuations it is refreshing to find such modest figures that indicate that it is OIL that is sought instead of merely a sale of units. If BEMCO were in process of organization today it could, with oil actually flowing from ground less than 500 feet away, be capitalized at more than double what it is—which means double dividends to unit holders under our plan. Mr. Scott is so certain of approval on the most conservative business basis that he invites investigation with bankers or investment advisors as to location, plan, progress, adjoining oil logs of producing wells or any other matter. The rapidity with which the well is being sunk has justified the selection of Jack McKeon who has a long string of perfect wells to his credit. In fact, BEMCO is an investment to recommend to friends. Mr. Scott will be glad to arrange to show you the field and the BEMCO holdings. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Murch and family and Mr. and Mrs. G., E. Murch and family will go beyond Orange Park tomorrow where they will enjoy a picnic outing. YORBA NEWS YORBA, April 21.—(Spl.)—A blown cylinder cap was the cause of No. 8 on the Santa re-going late one hour Friday morning. The accident happened at Northam and the train stood just at the end of the switch in such a position that traffic was impeded from both sides until an engine, that ordinarily does the switching at Fullerton, was pressed into use to replace the disabled engine. Last Sunday a group of friends motored down from Los Angeles and were entertained by Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Velasco, with Vincent and Louis A. Velasco two of their sons, assisting. The party consisted of Mr. and Mrs. Russell Bacon of Los Angeles, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Moreland and Mrs. D. Dolley of Central City, Iowa. A California-Spanish dinner was served at noon by the hosts and the afternoon was spent in motoring to the nearby interesting points, historically and sentimentally. Other people entertained during the week by the Velasco family were Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Harvis of L. A., and Mr. Ralph Fuller of McPherson. Mr. John Purcell of Whittier, member of No. 1898 council of the Knights of Columbus, was in our burg recently in the interests of his council. Miss Hlanche Boisserance is spending a week with her sister Mrs. Arthur B. Andrade at Long Beach, and incidentally getting acquainted with the latest and newest nephew, that Dr. Stork recently left in care of Mr. and Mrs. Andrade. Mr. John Sapp of Santa Monen is visiting his daughter Mrs. Chas. Teed at the Yorba Locke ranch. Mr. Teed who had hurt his hand, although still tied up, is getting along very nicely. Miss Benigna Peralta has been suffering with a severe attack of the "flu" the same malady afflicting Miss Aristex Marquez and Mr. Salomon Villanvicencio. Benny Yorba has also fully recovered from a recena bronchial attack. Little Dorothy Murde, the infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Emile Boisserane was another sufferer from bronchial complications, so much so that a special nurse had to be provided for her for a time at the sanitarium and here at the house. As it never rains but pours, Mrs. Boisserance had to have a felon lancet that had formed on one of her fingers. Happily all are well once more. Mr. W. K. Keem of Los Angeles was Yorba visitor today and Mr. H. J. Huxley from the same place, was here yesterday.
